Considering Volk RE30 in Flat Black

A guy on my local Craigslist posted up Volk RE30 rims for $1500. They're flat black. The size, however, is somewhat bothersome. They're 18x8.5 but the offset is +50. The high offset should make the wide rims ok, right? I was thinkin about running some thin tires in order to prevent rubbing. Maybe 235/40/18 or 225/40/18 even. I'm not dropped right now, but I will probably end up dropping on Neuspeed Sport Cup with the race springs sometime soon. Any opinions? The rims are also coming with lugs, touch up paint, and wheel socks.

Here's the pic he posted.

go for 235/40s! the 225s i have by nankang is a little stretched and doesn't look that great. I'm on 18x8.5s offset: +45. It doesn't rub at a drop either, i've tried. I want to go for 245s or wider, but I haven't searched up if anyone has done that so i'm scared to test it first.

offset is kind of fail omi...
*edit: just kiddding! thinking about it for a bit it'll actually probably be a little flush than your OEMS :P
but rims are sick nonetheless.

You'll be fine with the offset, and it'll give you more room for the tires. Without a drop, you can probably get 245s on there and be fine

^actually, I've rubbed with 18x8 +40 offset without a drop, so I'd rather not push it. hahaha

I'm feeling the te37 alot more than re30, though. I'm wondering if I should just be patient and hope for a cheap set of te37 to pop up on our beautiful black market The price, however, is just phenomenal, imo

I live in Raleigh, NC, just incase people were wondering which craigslist this set of wheels were posted in.
