Yes, their spec for 225/45R17 is a rim size of: 7.0 - 8.5.

FYI, there is a Sticky that talks to tire sizes.

I'm running 225/45-17s, ES100s. Just make sure you look at the Revs per mile as the Avons of the same size have too many revs per mile.

Message from TireRack rep.

The overall diameter of this recommended fitment is half in shorter than your original tire. This will result in a very small change in speedometer accuracy to the effect of about 1 mph.
The ride should remain close to the original. This tire width change is done often on this vehicle.

Ethan,

If I go with the ECSTA ASX in 225/45R17, will there be any consequences? Meaning, will my ride quality suffer, will my rims bend, etc? What is the difference between the 215/50R17 and the 225/45R17? I am not used to researching so much for tires!

Thank you,

Rahoo

Rah,
Thanks for your question to The Tire Rack. My name is Ethan. The recommended tire size for the TSX is 215/50R17 or the slightly wider 225/45R17. We have a Kumho ASX in the larger size that is appropriate for your car's load. If you have any other questions or need to place an order, please contact me directly. If you are placing your order online, please be sure to reference my name, so that I can watch over your order as it processes.

Question: Hi. I am in the market for new tires for my 2004 Acura TSX. I am considering buying the 215/55/R17 Kumho ECSTA ASX because they are cheaper. However, I have read that the load rating on the ECSTA ASX is not at what it is supposed to be for the TSX. How can I remedy this problem but still staying with this tire? Can I get a different size or anything else? Thank you
