Exclamation about Euro CL7/CL9 and auto-leveling HID headlights

For those European CL7/Cl9 with OEM HIDs headlights, usually we do have factory installed, auto-leveling (or self-leveling if you like) modules for our headlights vertical adjustments.

So please notice the following.

If you're going to replace your OEM suspension be aware of the following:
- the OEM front-left dumper has a bracket which is linked to the front self-leveling sensor !

I've just install my H&R coil overs and this have that bracket, for instant Tein does not have that bracket (you need special order from Japan if you want that)

If you're going to install a rear camber kit (i.e. Ingalls) one of the rear left arm (which will be replaced be one from the camber kit) contains a bracket which is linked to the rear self-leveling sensor

one of the OEM rear left arm (with bracket) vs aftermarket adjustable Ingalls arm (from camber kit) (i.e. the Ingalls doesn't have that bracket):

For the rear aftermarket adjutable arm you must find a workaround to install a bracket for the rear self-leveling sensor.

PS> sorry for the bad quality phone pics, but I did not have the camera with me, I hope I'll take better pics next time I'll have a chance

Good info!!!

Quick solution is to find someone who will cut the bracket off the OEM lower arm and weld it to the Ingalls one.

That's was my first idea, to cut it and weld it, but the Ingalls arm is adjustable by rotation as I'm aware, so once weld it, you won't be able to do any adjustment to that arm and fit the sensor at the same time , am I right ?

So my solution was to cut the bracket and tie it to the arm using 2 metal "necklaces" (not sure if it's the right term) so to be able to still adjust the alignment in the future.

The "necklace" can be tied/untied whatever I need to do any alignment adjustment.

Now, it remains to see if this solution is good on long term.

Good points. Is there a way you could weld the sensor to the bottom side of the body, close to where it would sit. That way you wouldn't need any solution involving the lower arm bars.

Is the tab on the toe or camber lower arm bar?

Well the sensor is located to the rear axle and is linked to that arm's bracket with some little arms in a shape like this " /\ " . I'll take some pics when I have a chance.

Definitely would love to see more especially since it is not a part of the TSX in North America.

So if I understand this post correctly....the european version of the TSX has auto-levling headlights, which is NOT a feature on the US version?

Until I'll have a chance to take better pics, I found this bad quality image on my phone camera. Tried to explain on it what's there.

Interesting but we don't have that feature on our USDM models.
