5zigen SC3000 Hyper Black
Coming next week for my '06 NBP TSX
wheels:
5zigen SC3000 Hyper Black
18x17.5 +43
wrapped in:
Falken Ziex Ze 912
225/40-18
After a few long nights of my free time between work and sleep wasted on looking at different wheels of all sorts, I've decided to settle on my original look of hyper black mesh wheels with a machined lip on my nighthawk black pearl car.
I previously went through 1 and 1/2 sets of 19" TSW Kyalami's the same style, but Texas roads suck, to say the least 3 torn lips - like literally TORN from the wheel - made me weary of buying upsized rims ever again...plus lightened my pockets, money well WASTED.
I was thinking of getting some forged wheels so I wouldn't have to deal with bends as much, but I've seen forged wheels bent up too so I figured if it's gonna happen, nothings gonna stop it and I don't want to spend my limited supply of money on just wheels...just watch where you're driving I guess.
Anywho...I found the best deal on edgeracing.com - they have the craziest deals on their bundles that I've seen on any single website. They have a special going on right now on a bunch of different sets of wheels and tires - take a look if you're in the market for some new wheels and/or treads. Too bad I didn't get my set from them though
I was told that NTB and Discount Tire price matched online prices, given they were coming from real companies with professional websites or whatnot. I like the idea of dealing with a local shop like NTB and Discount Tire so that I can purchase road hazard warranties and lifetime balancing and rotations and such. I saved a quote on the set and took it to NTB where I get my alignment and such done and they told me they price match people on wheels and tires. Well, they said they couldn't on this set for whatever reason. I didn't fight it or anything and was just like "Ok thanks for checking" and left.
Then, I went to Discount Tire right down the street and talked to the friendly sales person who did do the price match, problem-free. I had to pay $70 extra for the certificates for free replacements from road hazards, $60 for lifetime balance and rotation, and since I'm doing it through them an extra $93 to Uncle Sam for taxes - only con for the whole price match dealy, but at least I've got my warranties. My total for a set of brand new 18s with tires was just under $1400. I'll post pictures and give you my opinion on the tires as soon as I get them early next week. Can't wait!

i was thinking about getting the +45 but i decided on the +43 because i liked how flush it looked with the tsws and their +40. i didnt have many rubbing issues after i pushed the fenders up. they weren't going to price match the same tires if i picked a different size than edgeracing so i would have had to pay a lot more for the .2 inch difference - i hope i dont regret that later, God knows i've dealt with enough of that problem already. i should be able to keep my car slammed though with this setup. i need to fix a few things though
anyone know what part numbers or the name of the parts are for the air dam plastic thingy that goes under your car? ive bottomed way too many times and it started dragging so i cut it off. my aerodynamics are probably jacked up right now in regards to my underbody

Sick wheels, by the way. I loved your Kyalamis but if you were having issues with those then these 5zigens are a hot replacement.

your rims are gonna look nice. I have these in black, and 19x8.5 +45 offset with
225.35.19 tires and i'm dropped on Eibach Pro Kit.
+43 is probably fine for you since you're only on a 8.5 wide rim. My front wheels are pretty much flush, and the rears are cambered at the top (camber kit is sitting, waiting to go in), so I could've actually gone staggered and squeezed a bigger lip on the back.
Here's a couple of pix to give you an idea of how it's gonna look. Post up some pix when you get your rims!

I seem to think they're heavier.
so are mesh rims the new thing now?
everyone seems to be going mesh.
here's the picture by the way, not in red x form:
certainly not for me...

Pretty positive. I'm not seeing a red x in my original posting...? dunno, man, dunno....
I've always liked the 5 zigen lineup, and these look a lot different than the pics. They really don't do them justice. I'm partial to the fact that they're stainless steel, too.
Best off all, 5zigen is discontinuing them when the current stock sells out, so they're soon to be HTF.
I'm really partial to the Racing Hart C5, but unfortunately I can't seem to find a set anywhere.
