Too risky? What would the best tires be for that? I was thinking the 235/40-18's.

The tire size is fine but any particular reason to use the +38 offset?

Well, just that I think these rims look great and are surprisingly cheap.

no offense but the reason they are cheap is cause they are cheaply made. if that is what you want then go for it.

what kind of risk? they won't rub, steering might be affect by the 235 tire w/ low offset. might look like a 4x4 depending on what wheel you get

None taken, but ... how could you tell they are cheaply made?

Yes, I was asking about rubbing. Thanks for confirming that part, how would steering be affected?

A wider tire (215 jump to 235) will increase road feedback and possibly tramlining. A large decrease in offset, 55 to 38, can make steering more (or over) sensitive. I had 225's on a 18x7.5 +42 and liked it, but the steering feel did change some

They are cheaply made becuase of the price. Any wheel around $100 is going to be either heavy, and/or not very strong. The heavy wheels will weigh down the car and the weakness in the wheels will mean that the wheels will bend very easy if you run over a bump or a pothole or something. That means yuo'll have to either live with a vibration while diving around, or replace the wheel. Which you might as well have gotten a nicer set in the first place.
