Question 18"s on A-Spec suspension...yea or nay?

Will 18"s on my TSX with the A-Spec setup look like a 4x4 or will it be okay?

I'm looking into a few different wheels in 18"s but might stick with 17 if everyone says my car will look too high...

Yeah, probably.

Every time someone posts a thread that they just put on the A-Spec suspension, I can never tell that it was dropped.

Looks good Ontilt. What size/offset and tire size are you running? The cars dropped lower do look better but aren't practical for some people.

Both Ontilt and IanS' cars look really good with that combo. I think if you stick with 235/40/18 and a high offset then you'll be okay. It's when you go 225/40/18, which is smaller than stock, that it starts to look lifted. 215/45/18 has also been run successfully and looks good too.......

It works for some, but not for others. These are 18 X 7.5

I decided to get Coilovers instead. Hafta get some new shots once it stops sprinkling out here.

That's a kinda wide tire for that wheel width... I'd probably going with a 225. You can fit the 235 though I think so its just my

Yup, I've already drop it as well, but haven't had a chance to take pictures because the weather has been so shitty here.

225 is perfect, at 235 it would be doable (many members have done so), but may be wide. Also keep in mind that tire widths do vary from one manufacturer to the other (i.e. the same tire size may look wider on a Toyo vs. a Nitto)

widths don't... but tread, or footprint does. It's just that the measurement is from the widest place, and that isn't always the thread

PZero Nero 235/40/18s are listed as a minimum 8" wheel width, so like others have said, they may look too wide on those rims.

What offset are the Volks?

You can do it... it might look a little funny, if not dropped. A) The wheel gap will look bigger. And B) The wheels might appear to stick out from the fender a little

I would stick with offsets above +42

Mine are a 42 offset. They're basically perfectly lined up to the car (don't stick out).

I'll take some shots this weekend and post some pictures up on a new thread.

would these work?

Tire Size 17X7.5

LUG PATTERN 5X114.3

OFFSET +/- 40

the offset isnt high enough, right? what would happen if i put this on my car??

If you don't want the lifted look, you're going to want the offset higher than that; 50 or more would be good.

It would be quite difficult to find any rim/tire combo that will interfere on the inside. Keeping the wheel far inside the wheelwell is key to minimizing the appearance of wheelgap.

Yeah, 48 offset will be much better than 40 IMO.

Unless you can find a 235/40 that fits on a 7.5" rim, I'd choose a 215/45 over a 225/40...........

PZero Nero comes in 215/45/18. Nice all-season tire......
