16" rims for snows

Hi there,

I'm wondering beside the 16" steelies that acura/honda sells. What other 16" rims will fit. I know they are 5X114.5 and +55 offset for the 17". What will fit fine on 16"(basically what offset range). I'm looking specifically for makes and models of rims. What are people running for snows in terms of rims.
I actually like the 16" rims that the premium RSX has. The 5 spoke ones. Anyone know if they will fit and what offset these rims are.

I got RSX alloys from Curry Acura online and they work great. As I recall Curry was selling them for about $90 each brand new in the box. These are 7 spoke wheels as I recall. FYI don't let the tire shop mounting them put adhesive wheel weights on the inside of the wheel because the clearance on the front brake caliper is too close and will peel the weights off the wheel.

$90... really wow that is cheap... of course that is US funds... I was inquiring at my local dealer for the RSX 5 spoke alloy rim(the one for the premium model) and they quoted me $650cdn (a rim). That was crazy... right now I'm going to check out the wreckers maybe unless I can find something as cheap as what you got...
even the black 16" steelies were going to cost me $90. So you got a very sweet deal...

.

Call your local Honda/Acura dealers for a quote for the OEM 16" steelies.
They are the 5x114.3 16" that fits on 03-05 V6 Accords. Price varies with dealers, so ask for a deal if you buy 4. I got a set of four yesterday for CDN$54 each + taxes here in Toronto.

16" steelies for tsx; what's the offset?

Hi there,

I know the 16" honda OEM steelies will fit on the TSX.
I'm curious however what the offset of the steelies are.
The reason I ask is I want to find out if +38 or +40 offset rims will
fit on the tsx. I've read the post on having +45/+65 offset rims
for 205 tires. However, looking at the recommended size of
acura/honda for these 16" steelies(205/55/R16), I'm beginning
to think the +38 rim will fit. The closer size to our stock 17" is actually
205/60/R16, however that is not what is recommened. They actually
recommend a tire that is further then the closest match. I'm wondering
if they are doing this so as to avoid rubbing in the fender area when
turning due to the lower offset of the steelies.
Anyone have any insight/comments on this...

Richard

Who recommend 205/55/16 more than 205/60/16? Which or where acura/honda you found this info? That will only throw off your odometer, speedometer, (and some people say VSA also). 205/60/16 is definitely what's better for TSX in winter.
As for offset, it still depends on the width of the rims but for +38 we are talking about 1.7cm difference here, that seems too much.

I actually called one dealer(Richmond Acura) and went to another one(Northshore acura), both of which are in the greater vancouver area in BC. Both say the books recommend 205/55/R16... I know they will more significantly throw off the speedometer then the 60 series tires, but I believe the 60 series tires make you think you are going slower then you really are. Anyways, anyone got a set of the steelie rims. Does it have an offset on it? Or can someone find out... I'm really curious why the 205/55/R16 were recommended. I'm trying to find a cheap set of rims. Haven't been able to find any used ones from RSX or accord forums for my area. So trying to find something new that runs less then $150cdn each rim.... but is seems the cheaper stuff is around +38 to +40 offset range...
