Any of you modders up to the challenge? We need timeslips, no gtech numbers.

I know some of you may be saying...bah..thats too easy . Well until we see a timeslip its as elusive as a man on mars.

with the bolts ons we have at this point I think the only way it's going to be done is with some light wheels/tires....can't wait to see what you guys can come up with!

I think a full comptech setup might have a shot. Not sure if anyone here has done this yet.

It's easy to do:

Use light wheels and grippy tires

Take out back seat and passenger seat

Remove door panels and spare tire and all other trunk lining.

Tada...you should break 15.

I've already gotten 15s. 15.4. Unless you're talking about getting it under 15 (as in 14.9, etc.). I'll be there in a couple weeks. I'm not saying a damn thing either.

What's the 1/4mile for a stock TSX 6sp manual?

I'm thinking of the TSX and maybe planning to supercharge it if there's a kit out by then.

When I said break 15, i meant 14.x.

And again, you can say its easy but untill I see a timeslip it hasnt been done

OettingerVR6. stock 6-speed will pull mid 15's.

If this means hondata actually has an app out that will work for the tsx or you've figured a way to rig one you are the man. You should go ahead and PM me with any and all details you have.

wouldn't VAFC with CAI do the trick? on top of some grippy tires, that is.

I don't think 6Speed TSXs can break 15 with just I/H/P/E.

Gotta wait for Comptech SC or Hondata with all the bolt ons.

For those that were curious, I've done a 15.4 when the car was showroom stock. Even the tires weren't swapped at the time. I figure with the ES100s, the pro kit, the revo shifter with the metal bushings, and the other little thing I've been building for the engine bay (with a certain little upgrade under the glove box)...I'll be in the lower half of the 14-range easily. Nothing like a 4-door that will blow the doors off of a lot of RSXs out there with the extra couple hundred pounds in addition. Who needs VSA anyway?

Kurt I believe your 1/4 mile times because I have run similar times in the past. Can't wait for that Hondata system...

I dont believe anything without official timeslips

Kurt, those are some pretty lofty goals. You think hondata would make that much of a difference (i'm assuming thats what you'd have under the glove box)?

When you're running 15.4 on crappy tires, no LSD (coupled with a not-so-favorable final gear of 4.389 instead of the 4.764 from the Type-R I prefer), soft (yet not weak) springs, and the stock shifter with weak rubber bushings, you can expect fixing those will drop you in the 14s, but then I go under the hood. Nothing like a couple of little bolt-ons that go with a touched up engine with Hondata. Did I forget to mention that this engine isn't the one that was in there originally? :P

gotta be a k20a2 with type r cams, intake and hondata flash.

To get an idea of what a tuned k20a is capable of here is a dyno of prototype racings k20a conversion kit for the lotus elise.

They actually have new equal length race headers which add another 10hp/7lbft as well.

so, for all of that engine swaping shit you gain 30hp and lose 10tq? doesent seem right to me...........

also, what about the DBW? that would interfear with an engine swap also.

Thats HP and TQ at the wheels, so its more than a 30 hp gain.

Under 5500 its not that impressive. But after it just explodes. Not only does torque not drop off, it increases. I with I could get the TSX 2.4 to do that after 5500.

I haven't dropped the motor in yet. Still haven't gotten the head back (yes, I'm having head/valvetrain work done for both cars). No use putting it in when it's easier to leave it out for now. The K24 is going in the RSX and I'll have the tranny from the TSX on the K24 that's going back in the RSX. The weight savings from the TSX tranny have me more willing to stick it in the RSX. I can still run the RSX in Comp 4 even after the swap. Ami won't mind the TSX being faster either. She's the one that gets to drive it. Still looks stock except for the Eibachs. It's going to be funny to see her smoke these punks in their riced out cars with a semi-luxury-equipped grocery getter.

Right, but the RSX-S one is the 4.389, which sucks. That's why I have the DC5-R FD in there. It's what I had in the RSX tranny when I put the phantom grip, the competition clutch iron puck and the exedy racing flywheel. Remember, the TSX box is going with its engine into the RSX. Confusing enough for everyone?

That K20 is sick, that's seriously NA? My roommate is looking for 250-260HP at the crank w/ a JRSC on his prelude. 230WHP would be amazing, 50 better than anyone here has gotten out of their K24.

You don't know about the RSX in the garage do you?

That and I also work 7-7 during the week. I figure, let her play during the week.

Is the Drive by Wire going to cause any trouble at all??

Hey maybe while you are at it you can put in a new 1st and 6th gear as well to make them longer!!

props for an engine swap. Takes dedication to do all this work on an engine/car just to break into the mid to high 14's. what will your RSX run with the engine swap?

I don't think the 2.4 from the TSX will make the RSX any faster through the 1/4, since HP wise there will be no change. The other big variable will be gearing, but I'm not sure if that will make things better or worse (have to compare the ratios between rsx and tsx). But one things for sure, the 2.4's much higher torque in the lighter RSX will make it a blast to drive

Actually, the K24 has some serious potential. I'm guessing that 12.9 will be easy to get to in the RSX. If the thing ran mid-13s at its last state, dropping an extra 30 lb-ft of torque will definately help. New pistons & rods, valvetrain, and a touched up head can make all the difference in the world. Not to mention that I'm going to lose a couple pounds in rotating mass. A lighter clutch and fly combination will do a great deal of improvement too. Won't need to worry about the axles either. I've seen RSXs with cybernation kits on them that have upwards of 260 lb-ft that haven't snapped the stock axles. I guess Honda figured that part out finally. Note to all: get a phantom grip and turn off your VSA. You'll thank me when you see what real turning grip is like out of this front-driver.
