Went Draggin' Tonight...
So we have this local track here, hosted many Battle of the Imports, called Los Angeles County Raceway (LACR). Anyway, some buddies from the SRT4 and ClubSi group were heading up there for some runs, so I figured why not! Even though the track elevation is 2810 ASL, and in the middle of the hot desert with gusty winds, nothing was gonna spoil my fun.
Brought a pair of stocks to put up front when I got there, at 25psi.
Best 60' I could muster was a 2.426 and best time 16.250 @ 83.740. Kind of a downer, best I could do with my 99 Civic Si a few years ago was 16.190. Let down, I throw the 18s back on and prepare to head home. I figure I'd give it another shot and just launch at a lower RPM... 2.336 60' and a 16.249 @ 83.065. --stoked-- The 1-2 shift still has a slight lag, car just wants to hesistate and then pick up and go. :shakehead
Night and day difference with the higher performance tires, even with a little more wheel hop. Time for one more run, and get the best run of the night! 2.334 60' with a 16.178 @ 84.580. Beat a GSR in the process, heheh.
Time to find some superlight 17s with drag radials or just trash the Michelins and get new tires! And HTFU Comptech! I want the Supercharger!!
For reference, my Civic Si ran 15.53 at sea level with the same mods. (around a 0.6 difference at LACR)

Did you have your VSA off? your 60' isnt that bad for stock tires..i ran around the same time in the 60' and ran a 15.7 quarter..i launched around 30 to 35grand with 23psi in the stock tires.. next time im gonna run alil higher with the psi because i think the car lost steam or something by the end of the quarter due to low psi..

Has anyone done a 1/4 mile run with the hondata reflash? I'm curious how much difference that makes.

VSA was off every run, the last run I shifted a little harder in my 1-2 and earlier in my 2-3 and 3-4. That seemed to yield a higher trap speed. Launching around 2500 and feathering the clutch with the better tires was my best bet.
According to the scale, the adjusted time would be 15.637 @ 87.565
My DC header is coming this week, and waiting ever so patient for Comptech to finish with the issues with the SC. I did find some BFGoodrich Drag Radials for about 260 shipped for a pair on tirerack.
P.S. - thanks moderator for moving the topic. Forgot that there was a Racing forum.
