TSXCman vs. Smartcar RACE

hey guys,
TSXCman the person on foot, not in his tsx
i was leavin school from one exit, and its kinda slow cause the people turning left have to wait for breaks in the traffic. i let my mom use the tsx for the day cuz her car was in storage, and i got a ride from my friend.
while im about 5th in line from the exit in my friends EL, i see a new smart car pull out of a stall between some people infront of us, and fit in like nothing. the car was like 4 feet long and 4 feet wide, with litttle exageration.
So since im a bit of a jackass, i jumped out and start jogging beside the smart car, then slowing down accordingly to his speed. the guy is about to exit and he rolls his window down "what the hell are you doing?" i said, "we're racing bitch".

so he turns left and i turn on the jets and start running beside his car and pass him by alot, him and his friend in the 2 seater are laughin, but he's got the pedal to the floor. Only once my top speed was set, was he able to pass me (due to the fact hes in a highway capable car).
the next day he congradulated me on the win, and we laughed. he said its a complete diesel car.... i dont know if it has electric motors or anyhting.

I didn't know they were out already in Canada. Most folks won't get this - you have to see the car in person to appreciate its size.

Yeah it's been out since september. I've seen them in Europe back then, but seeing them again here, and with perspective to other big cars... Holy crap it's a frickin small car.

Anyways, I'm buying one for my wife, and I swear I'm taking this cutie to the track for a timeslip!

0-60 in a Smart should be measurable with a sun dial.

I've seen a couple of them around lately. "Tiny" doesn't even begin to describe it. They look dangerous, I think I'd be half-inclined to wear a helmet driving one of those.

I've seen those things and I don't think I'd ever be willing to drive on in the SUV-crazed cities of the US.

I remember getting passed by a Smart Car (turbo-gas engine) in the areas of Toulon in France going up a climb on the highway at 150kph. That was sort of surreal..

The CDi version we have here is rated for 125kph tops.

Not yet. I'm waiting to see the results of the 2004 fiscal year's impact on my wallet.

Last time I checked at my dealership, there was a 3 months waiting list.

I just might, but really, we don't need more practicality than what the Smart offers for the wife. It's just a small car that would quicken her displacements around town to do the groceries or other shoppings, or just the casual weekend drive to our parents' in Laval or Quebec City.

We love the looks, and I'm attracted by the 90mpg (IMP).
