I need to find a place around the Chicagoland area that I can get a reflash in my TSX.

Good point .

...although, I suppose that could also depend on whether an "alternate" management system ends up getting released in late May ...

^^ its not cheap, but IMHO, worth the cost. Also, if you compare the cost vs. benefit then its a better buy than an intake, header, or exhaust.

if you don't have any force induction mod...would it matter if you get kpro instead of hondata and then you still have to get it tuned...

hondata is tuned for optimized performance with an aftermarket intake and header. (I think its the Injen intake and Comptech header but not sure). It still works very well with the stock intake and header. A K-pro would be tunable for the specific setup that you have (i.e. Comptech Icebox and DC header, for instance) but I suspect that you would not be able to feel difference. Anotherwords, the tuning advantages of a K-pro vs. the stock hondata reflash in non-turbo and non-supercharger applications won't be that noticeable. I'm not an expert though, so I can easily be proven wrong.

As far as I know, there is only one dealer that will do the reflash in person, Epic Motoring. If you go to Epic you can have the reflash done while-you-wait. The other dealerships will ask you to remove the ECU and then ship the ECU and immobilizer to Hondata.

Give up and go home. Your 5AT will never be quicker than his 6MT unless he doesn't know how to drive.

I am pretty sure hondata optimized the full Comptech i/h/e setup

maybe you'll be able to get kpro and then get the hytech cam kit and get like 240whp...

I know for a fact that hondata never incorporated exhaust into their numbers. As Jan said, i think it was the injen and CT headers as well. If you read the article or the caption under the dyno graphs, it mentions the icebox would yeild similar numbers.

Here's hoping for kpro and hytech though huh?!?

Looks like I was wrong. I was rereading Jeff Palmer's review of the reflash on TOV and found this reference (at the beginning of the 5th paragraph):

"Hondata's development TSX is a 6-speed model that is currently configured with a Comptech Icebox Intake and Comptech's 4-2-1 stainless headers."

Not quite sure where you can get it done around here.

But we have large Chicagoland Acura meet going on here where there will be several TSX owners that you can ask first hand. Here is the link, help Chicago represent.
