TSX is faster than ___ ?
I posted this under the racing/compt. but I thought maybe some people could chime in here. thanks.
Hello, I dont know much about cars or racing so I was hoping maybe some people from this forum can give me some info on what cars a stock TSX is faster then. In both auto or manual. Ive browsed some of the forums and tried to do a few searches but I cant find any compilation or definite results other then occasional stories.
I realize there are many different scenarios that probably create different outcomes but in general I am just looking for any kind of data or experience. So basically just street driving/freeway.
So if you have any insight I would appreciate the info and if so provide some specifics like make model and year of the cars that the TSX is faster than.
And im sure for most some comparisons are obvious but for me I really have no idea. corrolla S vs TSX ?? Tiburon vs tsx? civic vs tsx? accord non v6 vs tsx? ect.. ect..
thanks for any input.

if you are buying a tsx to be fast you are buying the wrong car. it is faster than a buick and a kia.

I think y'all are a bit too tough on the TSX. I mean, it's no hot rod, but it is a highly competent, well-rounded car. I drive a 6MT. I have personally beaten a Maxima (probably automatic) from 5 mph to about 60 (half car length) and a BMW 318 from 60 mph to about 95 pulling away by 3-4 lengths.

Not too fast 0-60 wise, however, I have seen slalom / accident avoidance times that are better / as good as rivals. I think you can find these at Consumer Reports or Car & Driver...perhaps it was another online magasine.

LMFAO. Umm, there are no V6 Corollas. And an Accord V6 will spank a TSX.

get a M/T car if you want the most grunt, but even modded you wont turn any heads at the dragstrip in a car like this. Hell, the car is not really suited for alot of HP anyway being FWD with no helical LSD. you can make one a respectable sportster though.

This thread reminds me of that recent commercial for Comcast broadband cable intenet where the two turtles of the Slowsky family would just rather have DSL because cable is too fast for them

but granted, it will still be slow
It makes more sense to supercharge a MT tsx than to supercharge an AT tsx tho =)

I've seen those V6 Corollas, too, but a double take revealed they're actually labelled "VE", with the typeface purposefully chosen to try to fool us/make us take another look.
Anyhow, the TSX is relatively aerodynamic, so at what speed might our wind-cheating shape, gearing and power make beating an otherwise unbeatable car possible? I'd guess that some of the SUV crowd would be first to fall (wow, what a kill), but what are the other aero-pigs? Convertible BMW's? Likely we are talking "lose your license" velocities.

I got a pleasant reminder, yesterday, from a Mazda chatroom member who got his first ticket, about the consequences in Ontario of being caught doing over 150 on the highway. I counted 11 cruisers yesterday a.m., while driving around, so I kept it down until coming back from the airport, when my passenger said he saw 150 on the speedo three times; my personal matra is that I don't do those speeds in a straight line, I don't do those speeds in a straight line, I don't do those speeds in a straight line... When passing on country roads it's OK, and actually two of those times were on accel/decel ramps - and I wasn't alone, but then there was the connection between two highways on Saturday, and ... I'm still in the extended break-in period. Bad TSX. Bad TSX. I think I'd better go back for therapy with those Corollas.
