Sometimes it's best to admit defeat...

It all started on Kendall Drive … traffic lights every 75 feet … Stopped at a stop light and an ‘06/’07 Accord Coupe V6 pulled up next to me. It was black and pretty much 5% all around. He started to rev his engine and put his flashers so I knew what was up. 3-2-1 and I launched my 5AT TSX against him. I held on there till 70 and by that time he was a car length ahead of me. I wish Honda would drop the Accord’s V6 into the TSX. Even though the car would be a bit heavier, it would be sweet to have that kind of power! I hope the next TSX will take this into consideration. Oh well, merged onto the Freeway and that was when the real party began…

A 04+ 350Z came up on my rear bumper out of no where. Then, he swerved out and flew past me. So, of course, I had to try to catch up with him. Launched the TSX and caught up with him at around 105. Rode along side him for like 3 seconds (obviously he wasn’t pushing her as hard as he could have) and then he launched. Holy phuck that car has some pull. The exhaust note was quite loud and deep so I assume he has done some under-hood mods. So yea, he killed me so I slowed back down. After the next rise and fall of the highway, off the median shoots a highway patrol car heading after my 350Z friend. I feel it for him for I know that he was going well over 100 in a 65 area. Either way, sure as hell glad it wasn’t me and know now that it is better to admit defeat!

Yeah, I learned that lesson against a Golf 2.0, that by all means looked stock when I pulled next to it at the light, but soon learned otherwise....

Hopefully with my CAI and a few more mods(hondata and headers) I will at least be able to smack around a few of these rice-burners here in Jax...

o_x not good to speed mang, especially on a highway.

TSX isnt a racer, though a lot of cars try, especially older integras and IS300s around here. I drive it from A to B and enjoy the ride.

Funny, those cars are no where to be found when Im in my vette though.

If the Accord was only a car length ahead of you at 70MPH, and you have an automatic TSX, then I'm pretty certain a 6 speed would've stayed with the Accord at the very least. And if your TSX is an '04-'05, you're missing out on a little more power out of the box anyway.

My '06 6 speed hangs with my friend's '03 TL-S extremely well. At certain speeds he can pull ahead of me, but it is by no means "blowing my doors off"... it is a crawl at best. At high speed we're just about even.

You don't need a big heavy-drinking V6 shoehorned in the slim from end of the TSX... what you need is a factory supercharged 4 cylinder... Especially if you're going to stick with an Automatic.

Yea ... I knew that I pretty much hadn't a chance, but it was a chance to push the TSX to the 'legalish' limit!

My friend has an accord v6 six speed and I had I chance to race one on the highway. It's a waste of gas since I know damn well the V6 is superior. I've admitted defeat.
