WRC blows my mind. It's my favorite racing style of them all. What really blows my mind are the spectators who seem about a foot from the road in some footage. Crazy!

You've just gotta love any sport where more fans are killed than the athletes!

"bad drivers"?

Actually, one of those wrecks was the former world champion Marcus Gronholm (his major wreck was in Germany). Another was Marko Martin, the lead Ford driver (I think it was in Corsica, France).

Remember kids, "before you jump, make sure the car is straight and neutrally balanced".

And for those spectators "don't be on the OUTSIDE of the apex of a turn".

Still, that's "balls out" racing. That's why I have most of the last two seasons in DVD.

I love the shots with the camera inside the car. Amazing the composure these guys have while their car is rolling over at 60 MPH. One guy had special handles on the side of his headrest to grab onto! "Whoops, my car is flipping over a cliff again..I'll just put my hands behind my head and enjoy the show..." At least two of the drivers accidently (or maybe intentionally??) turned their wipers on while rolling. Perhaps the mud that gets on the window during a barrel roll is considered the most inconvenient part of the crash to them?

ppl watch nascar just to see the multi-car crashes but IMO, WRC is more entertaining...seeing cars flying through the air and rolling down ditches gets me all juked up :busted:

What happened with that one after the car catches on fire (i think it's like the second to last), the shot is inside the car, they're going along and then all of a sudden there's a big crack in the windshield and then they crash. . . was that a bird? a rock?

I make them myself. I capture them onto the computer from my TiVo (Speed TV), edit out commercials, put in a menu and voila...my DVD.

Wow. I'm not that much into racing but that amazing.
Why isn't WRC bigger in the US? Maybe we're too dumb to watch anything but the V8 pushrod merry-go-round they call NASCAR.

Don't know why it isn't more popular. It is getting there though. There is the SCCA Pro Rally series in the US only.

one thing i that still surprises me - 2000-3000 lbs + cars still can't take out a tree, or even put a dent in it, when they're doing 50 mph +
