I dont agree. You need to get the rpm's up on the engine before you dump the clutch. I think it launches very well for 166 ft/lbs...

actually, believe it or not, the E55 AMG still is faster off the line. It came as a shock to me too, but I believe either Autoweek or Road & Track had the E55 AMG being .2 seconds faster. I'm going to check the specs out right now and post them.

yeah just checked Road & Track, the 2005 MB E55 AMG does 0-60 in 4.3s, the 2005 BMW M5 in 4.5s. But we all know which one is cooler.

How is that possible?

Power: M5 > E55
Gears: M5 > E55
MT: M5 > E55

There's no way the E55 shifts faster. It's got a bunch of torque, but that usually doesn't help in a straight-line race. I don't get it. Maybe it's conditions.

Edit: Someone just ran a comparison between the two. Was it MT? I'll check when I get home....

the MT's are quick, i saw one beat an integra type r in a street race. but both were competent drivers.

Like I said, needs a good launch. Not enough revs (which I've seen quite a few people do) and you bog the motor.

Number are pretty close, and the Titan is an auto while the TSX is a manual. You'd have to shift perfectly in the TSX to stay with the Titan in the 1/4 mile.

i was on the highway one day, and me and my friends were all piled in his 2003 lancer. the car isnt fast to begin with, but with 5 people in the car, it was horrible. well we pull up next to a hemi, and just for fun we were about to race it, to see what it was capable of, until i saw more of the driver's sleeve, and saw he was a cop. not sure if it is legal or not, but ive seen people get pulled over by cops in vehicles that are not marked. well we dont race, but we stop at the next light, while the hemi ram is at the light in front of ours. there he was next to an rx-8. now i dont know the numbers for either, and obviously didnt know which it was (at or mt), but it somewhat stayed witht he hemi for a few seconds, and then the ram just pulled away. we thought that was pretty cool, but then got played with as we caught up to the rx-8 . (btw there were 2 people in the rx-8, at least one in the hemi)
