launching auto tsx?

is there a best way to launch an auto tsx? maybe the guys who have gone to the tracks have some advice...

turn off traction, hold the brake and bring up the revs as high as they will go?

is it possible to break traction in dry weather off a launch?

i was just interested because i have tried the other day just to see if the car could do it, but it seemed to just bog down for a sec and then take off, like a delayed reaction where you dont break traction but take off after a second of waiting for the engine to hit 3500rpm...

some friends of mine were plannin on goin to the track and i thought about going just to see what it can do, although i am not expecting that much...

i know this isn't a drag car and its the other traits (ie handling and lux) that i love more anyways...

your right, this car aint for draggin. i guess that works, but if i hold the brake with vsa off, the revs only climb to 2k, is this suppose to happen?

All aside... what is the best way to launch an Auto TSX, I know that a TSX isn't anything close to drag car, but what is the best way to launch it?: When the situation arrises.

okay let me introduce you to a great feature on this site. it is called the search feature. try it out, there was about 3 threads on this that i personally remeber beucase i know one of em i started asking this same question.

since i have time i can probably give u a quick lesson. first off the car has many rev limiters, basically, theres one when u put ure foot on the brake and hit the gas in drive, thats the one you guys are expirencing at i believe 3500 rpm.
theres another at the fuel cut off in red line and theres one more in neutral/park
to launch the car you basically either mash the pedal (least efficient) or rev it up n just let off the brake hard as ure mashing the pedal. takes practice.
the other ways involve messing with tires and conditions.
but for you since im tired of typing i would search
1. launching TSX techniquies
2. tracking TSX
and there was something else try a few search queries and have patience

You can neutral drop...but it means certain death for your transmission. To bypass the rev limiter in neutral. you
1. Put the car in neutral and rev the engine up
2. Quickly shift into sport shift mode...putting it into D results in a neutral lag to protect the transmission.

But if I were you I wouldnt do it if you car about the well being of your car. You could also wait for a rainy day, pull up the ebrake and floor it

GL at the track and dont kill your tranny

Yeah, It all depends on how much time you plan to use your car. Neutral drops don't kill your tranny... immediately. But I guess in the long run, and repeatedly (like I used to) it could induce at the very least deficient shifting.

im not too sure how well the neutral drops will work in that case. i do remember my freind who has a RSX 5AT who would get the car on an incline that was sorta slick drive up it n put it into reverse mash the gas and while the car is flying in reverse he would throw it into drive and spin the tires for a while.
tho he did this so much hes replaced the tires twice and has had problems with puttin the car into reverse. basically this guys car probably will barely last until his warrenty is up. but if u dont mind pushing you car waiting for the reverse to catch then have fun!

Neutral drops are a guaranteed way to kill your tranny.

At most, you just want to power brake for a split second before the light changes. Don't do it too long or you'll overheat your transmission.

Can someone explain to me how to neutral drop an Auto TSX? Just rev the car as high as it will rev and shift into SS mode? Wouldn't the tires spin like crazy?

Yeah. You rev it to the rev-limited while in neutral, then when you are ready to launch, drop it in D and off you go.

Why you being an ass for? Don't read the tread if you don't want to answer it.

anyways, back to the topic. Don't ever do N and then D! just turn off VSA, don't even rev it, just smash on the pedal when the time comes.

i have tried the netrual drop ..~ it doesn't seem any faster than power brake .. ~
when u r doing netural drop .. there is still a protection thing there .. ~
it appears like this .. once ur shift into either D or SS .. the rpm just fall down to around 3~2000rpm fomr liek 5000rpm .. which doesn't do any good to the lanuching .. ~ and the engine will still struggle for a bit
anyway .. it's a good thing that Acura doesn't let u fXk up ur tranny
but i still hope i can do the same thing on the AT TSX as my frd's AT mazda3 ..
he counld rev as high as he wants and just neutal drop and the car just lanuch n spin like crazy and take off like a MT car while im suffering from the awful lag ... ~
yes .. i got smoked by mazda3 in the lanuching .. eventhought i smoke him after 90km
it's still terrible cuz i thoguht i can take any of the everyday .. ~ nevertheless i got like some mods

SOME People spend more time hating on others than actually helping them out... Either tell us something that helps or keep your hands off the keyboard. Yes, there are other threads that talk about it, but there is no need to hate.

I recall reading that switching VSA off didn't help at all.

Sorry, too lazy to search and prove it.

I used to do that on my old car...I think thats way worse than neutral dropping.
