Beat by a Titan

no reason in trying to argue with him...if hes happy with his M45 hes happy. My family used to have that car. It was a great car while it lasted (the engine literally fell out of the car, infiniti didnt want to do anything about it so we parted it out) Im personally happy with the TSX and i would never race a truck. But if i had to i would race it on a curvy track

this titan is a 5.6L V8 mannn..specs wise, its 317hp and 385lb-ft. that thing can tow close to 10000lbs. this thing is a monster man. all this thing does is haul ass literally and chug gas, half our mpg. also..i really so no point in drags..its juss shows who has the stronger, quicker car. that's all..why not Actually race, u kno..with corners and stuff.which bring out the skills and all the abilities the whole has, as in suspension, acceleration, traction, etc. or how about through the mountains or the streets? lol..jk

That means the S/C will only give us a 0.4 sec increase.
Here is the excerpt from Wikipedia...
Performance
Brake system
Front: 12.6 in (320 mm) ventilated discs
Rear: 12.6 in. (320 mm) discs
Braking performance
70 - 0 mph: 190 ft (59 m)
60 - 0 mph: 137 ft (42 m)
Acceleration
0 - 60 mph: 6.2 s
0 - 100 mph: 15.6 s
1/4 mile: 14.2 s at 90.4 mph
Top speed: 120 mph
Lateral acceleration: 0.71 g
Personally, I'd rather be driving a TSX, and I do.

well we lined up, at my job we have 1/2 mile long road that we block off to race, and from a dead stop we pulled off, and he got about a car length ahead of me from the jump and i never could catch up, man was i mad, i wanted to beat this fool bad... so we were on the highway and rolling from about 50 we took off and he blew me away again.
I got so fed up with the poor performance of the Acura i went the next day and traded it for a Infiniti M45 =)
This has to be one of the fastest 4 door sedans i have ever driven, we will see on Monday if the Titan can hang!!!
Revenge will be mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So he ripped you on a drag strip..but rather than realizing that your car is a I4 sedan, that could rip out cars, double to triple the price tag on CURVES which Acura proved to do with the NSX, you dropped more money on an M45? Considering the TL is just as fast as an M, or did you not realize that?

Why didn't you just go for a GTO or Camaro SS? Put on some bolt-ons and you could "race" all the Titan trucks you want.

Don't worry I can honestly say that Honda/Acura cars have no torque whatsoever because this morning my TSX, I wanted to overtake 2 minivans, the current Toyota Sienna and current Nissan Quest and both minivans with their V6s just took off in front of me.
Why Honda/Acura why can't you at least give more torque in your cars!

For some folks like me, the power on tap for Hondas are more than enough to pass some prissy minivan -- I don't care if it has a V8. I've NEVER had problems passing a big SUV or VAN, even when I was bone stock. I guess you just have to know how to drive or when to pass.
:surrender Here's a tip: when a gas-guzzling car floors it and you need to get into their lane, DON'T accelerate. You can easily get into their lane AND save gas by just letting them go ahead.
Although I could easily "beat" the SUV or van, who cares? I just wanted to get in the friggin lane. Besides, you've got other issues if you think beating Titan trucks, minivans, or SUVs are something to brag about.

The Odyssey and Sienna have large V6 engines now and wait for the 07 MDX that is really gonna fly. They are giving soccer moms more power these days for some strange reason, it aint like they could drive what they had before.
#76
Ok -- that clears up alot. Either way, my wife drives a Honda Pilot with a 3.2L V6 and I have a tough time believing that it can beat a TSX.
It may be a dog, but after you drive the cars it was designed to compete with in the E46 325i and the Mercedes C230, it definately gives you more perspective. I just wonder why Honda decided to gear the TSX the way they did.

Did you know for 2007 the TSX has the least powerful engine in its class of 4 door sports sedans....embarrassing! You guys talk about value...even its cousin Honda Accord has a bigger engine...they could have used that V-6 and dropped it in the TSX then maybe it would be a suitable contender. There is a horsepower war between all the car makers and Acura has alot of catching up...and you can't argue about gas mileage because all them cars are pulling about the same and now they are all coming with NAVI...ACURA step your game up!!

Sure, you can get a V6 Accord, but you might not go any faster than a TSX. I did a quick Google, and the first thing that popped up was this:
http://www.dragtimes.com/Honda-Accor...slip-9532.html
15.65 in the 1/4? The MT TSX should be able to do that. Sure enough, when I look up the TSX, there's a 15.6 and 15.7. Maybe these numbers are faked, or aren't the proper models to compare, etc., but I've seen similar numbers elsewhere. The point is that an MT TSX can compare with cars that supposedly have a lot more horsepower. And it's perfectly fair that it's MT vs. AT. That's one reason to make an effort to get the MT....
Now, if you want to PASS someone else who's also got their foot to the floor, you have to be a LOT faster, or have a jump on them.
