Anyone used a CG-Lock?

For those that don't know, its basically a clamp for the lap belt to keep your butt in place while driving. A poor man's "harness" for spirited driving, but supposedly its good for posture on long road trips as it keeps you from slouching... which I need. I was wondering if anyone's tried it out

Yep. I bought one when I auto-x with my golf but I haven't used it on the TSX. It works as advertised but I wouldn't use it for long distance driving because it can get a little annoying. I'll sell you mine if I can find it...

I'm looking into full blown schroth racing harnesses... but that uh, kinda looks weird on the highway. if the cg-lock fits on your tsx i'm interested. supposedly there's 2 models of it, a flat and curved one? just what i read

I may be misunderstanding its function, but if it does what I think it does, you can do the same thing for about a buck with a child's seat belt clip. It's the thing at the top of this pic:

You clip it on your belt above your shoulder, below the anchor point, clipping both sections of the belt in and stopping it from moving. To get it really tight, you can slide the seat back, set the belt just a little snug, then slide the seat fwd again to tighten. I agree with Dan, it works fine for autox, but you wouldn't want to use it all the time.

I've used one in my friend's Miata (doesn't have harness because he didn't buya roll bar). It works pretty good. But I still prefer a 4/5 point harness.

Problem is adjustment and ease of use. If you have another driver in your car, you can forget about it.

With the CG Lock, you can loosen or tighten to whatever fitting you want. Also, it carries a 100% money back guarantee (minus shipping of course). DanM, you might want to return it if youre not happy?

For long distance driving, ive found it to be quite good. Keeps you from slouching in your seat.... I knwo for me, that leads to my back hurting, etc....

Xizor, youre in NOVA, im local and I can install and let you try before you buy.

email me please.

There is a great site online selling them for cheap...

http://www.apexsecure.net

I use mine while autox'in, and its the pwnz0r. Once you start using it, normal lap belts seem lame and pointless.

Thanks for the link. The CG-Lock works a bit differently than how I use a clip. From their website:

"It simply locks the lap belt portion of a car's stock inertia-reel three-point belt in place, helping to keep the driver properly seated."

I use the clip to lock the shoulder belt as well. I want the whole belt tight, not just the lap belt (for autox, not everyday driving of course). I'm not certain if that's what xizor is after or not? Reference to Schroth harness make me think maybe so...
