Thumbs up Almost broke into the 14s 1/4 mile

I went to the track Saturday. Lebanon Valley in West Lebanon NY. I was hoping for a low 15s pass from what everyone on here said. Although I didn't make it into the 14s I now know it can get there.

I made three passes the first and last were 15.2. The middle was 15.09@92.89

here are the numbers:
2.336 60ft
6.462 330ft
9.807 660ft
81.90 1/8mph
12.671 1000ft
15.096 1/4s
92.89 1/4mph

mods are:
comptech header
no cat
tanabe cat back
hondata reflash
injen CAI
ingals torque dampner

I know it was horrible. If I had gotten that down I would have done much better. I have a hard time launching when I cannot hear my car at all. I have to learn to do it by feel.

Did you get a performance gain by removing the cat?

How the hell did you run 82mph in the 1/8th and only 92mph in the 1/4? At 82 you should run nearly a 9 flat in the 1/8th. Did you possibly mean 72mph in the 1/8? If not something really doesn't add up here...

Good run getting the 15 flat though

Just going off what the slip says. It says MPH1. This is right after the 660ft mark so I assume that this is the 1/8 mile. My opponent ran a 10.4 and his MPH1 was 114mph.

14s next time

Another thing I noticed is that our gearing sucks for the 1/4 mile. I run through the traps well into 4th gear.

Interesting... I don't know much about the TSX, but my friend owns a 2008 Acura TSX. I was at the strips with him one day he ran a 15 seconds flat bone stock. 6spd tranny of course.

Nice 1/4 mile. What was your reaction time and what type of tires did you use? Any weight reduction?

Im eager to see what my bone stock 04 will achieve at the track. 15.7 stock is pretty impressive. I'm going to hit up Raceway park(NJ) as soon as I acquire two decent sticky tires(most likley Falken Azenis). I'm not expecting much but seeing these stock numbers being claimed, it gives a lot of hope for a heavy car.

I don't know what tires I had on. I think at the time I ran the 15.7, I still had the stock tires. I think that some sticky rubber will be a huge help. Englishtown is also a much faster track then Lebanon.

I don't think I had a great reaction time, but that won't affect 1/4 mile time.

Between the stick tsx and mine with mods is night and day. I would suggest everything I have listed in my sig.

Goodluck

I haven't been drag racing much since my Prelude broke down last year and I got layed off from work(yet again) but when i was at E-town, I always tried to get the best reaction time possible; I suppose you say that E-town is faster because it's lower elevation compared to upstate NY.
Your mods, I wish i can afford at the moment, the reflash has to help a lot for the powerband. ---so no weight reduction? full leather interior lol?

Englishtown takes care of their track much better then Lebanon.

No weight reduction full interior with a car seat in the back

Automatic and manual have different ratios I'm sure.

Pretty is stock. A few of my other friends believe hes one of the lucky few that got cars that been "freaked" as they call it. Something about you know how cars aren't perfect even its the same model. Some has more HP than others even if same model. They believe our friends TSX is the lucky one that got a bit over 205 during the production of his car. Lol.

Oh, nice. Still good. A few of my friends believe that time was because his engine was "freaked". Like how companies don't make perfect cars. Some cars have more HP than others even if its the same model, so we believe that he has a bit over 205. Lol Lucky him right?

Did you launch when you dragged the 15.7?

sorry didnt noticed a reply..

reflash, dc exhaust and header.. at the time i did the runs i had a cat delete but now have a R/T cat, injen intake, also have a pulley kit with ETD recently added
when i did my quarter miles i run on my 19s. (which i know dont help) and it was 80 degrees out so i didnt have enough time for the engine to cool down.. im sure if i go soon while the nights stay cool i should break my 15.2 runs to a possible 15 even 14.9 if im lucky

I don't remember what it was. It was bad whatever it was. I was not to concerned with getting best reaction time.

I never went to the dyno. I don't that top end horsepower was improved much. Most gains are in the mid range. Look at hondatas dyno sheets and you will see what I mean.

LOL I'm doing some PDX this weekend, and took out the Britax Parkway. You're telling me the car performs better with a booster seat in the rear?

^ haha booster seat might help to reduce sag in the back when taking off to help your launch.. of course a good set of springs and shocks that are stiff can do the same thing

Thanks. Just installed A-spec dampers and 22mm RSB. Thing tracks like a Maglev, rather spooky the first few days. This is what got me convinced that 1. I'm ready to auto-x and solo, and 2. I could benefit from some instruction and skills upgrades.

It's my DD, so I think the horses are long overdue to be let off the bridle and run free.

Just curious ... it's so quiet in this section. Everyone moved on to other cars, or it never was very busy, or ...?

I think there are very few people that actually track their TSX's. I've always wanted to see what my car can do on a track, but never got around to doing it. From the time I've been here, this section has been pretty quiet. Sporadic posts here and there, but nothing too major.

I broke down and bought myself a Tesla Gtech PRO for my birthday, to record times and performance. Seems the most economic way to measure my 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc. Not to mention get accurate MPH since the Hondacura speedo/odo had an error rate in it.

06-08 cams are supposed to have more lift all around. they're the best STOCK cams you can get for a K. over the R as well. there was some pictures online, i forgot where i saw it but there was a forum post on best stock cams and those won!

Good stuff man. Good to see people hooking up their TSX being that alot of people are scared of such mods due to electronic restrictions on our cars. As i tend to start my turbo project by the summer.
