XM Radio ID

The dealer is replacing the radio on my 06 TSX, will this change my XM radio ID?

My vote on this is a definite yes -- at least until someone proves otherwise. It's also going to change the security code you have to enter if power is ever disconnected from the unit.

What was wrong with the radio put in it initially at time of manufacture? Just curious so I can keep an eye out for similar issue(s).

Most likely you're going to get free months if you can't change it with XM.

It’s a long story you can read about it here
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35127

While it was in for service (ref the above link) they cracked the radio cover, I can’t see the crack, but now there is lots of dust behind the screen. Not really a big deal, the dealer actually pointed it out to me and said they would replace the radio, I’m not going to make a special trip in for this, they can fix it at the next oil change. I called XM to see what the protocol was, talked to four different people and no one understood what I was talking about/ or they were just being difficult.

When the radio is installed, just have the new radio ID added to your account and the old one deleted. Should be simple.

I thought the same thing, try getting someone at XM to understand that. They said I would ahve to cancel my current account, open a new account and pay the activation fee.
