Wrinkles Around Skylight

I just noticed some slight unevenness around three of the corners of the skylight. The sheet metal seems slightly warped there, maybe two inches or so out, a slight dent. The fourth corner seems perfectly smooth. I ran over a hard bump (a two-inch sharp rise in the pavement where they've ground off prior to repaving) about a week ago, and there was no damage to the tires or rims I could see, but could that've caused the sheet metal to flex slightly at the skylight? The car body is obviously weaker there, but it's hard to believe a bump could do that. Maybe I just never noticed the slight warping there. Do your cars have any warping there at all, or are the corners all perfectly smooth? Now I'm afraid I may have done more damage than I thought.

I've also gotten some slight dents from other car doors and a garage door opener cover falling from a couple of feet, and I'm surprised by how flimsy the sheet metal seems. I'm feeling like I'm driving in a car made from aluminum foil!

I had this as well, but ran my fingernail across it and realized it was just the plastic stuff they put on the car for shipping.

No, this looks like a dent in the metal right around three of the corners, like the metal was pressed down, but I know it wasn't. It looks like it might've buckled there. I can't believe the moonroof window would've hit with that much force, and the car couldn't flex that much even with a very hard bump, could it? I'm beginning to think they were always there, but I can't believe I didn't notice before.

I'm a little confused Is this "buckling" you see on the roof of the car or if you look up at the moonroof from inside or something? How noticeable is it? If it's on the roof I'd think you would have noticed it before if it was always there.

I find the sheet metal buckling from going over a bump as you described hard to beleive.

It's on the outside, in the sheet metal. It looks like the metal at the corners (three of them) was pressed down and made slight dents, about 2-3 inches across, at three corners. I can't believe even a hard bump (and it was really hard, running into a 2-inch pavement ledge straight on at about 50) would make them either, but I also know of absolutely no way they could've been made other than by that hard bump. I tried to take some pictures of one of the dented corners and one of the smooth ones, and I've attached them. This is driving me nuts, trying to figure out what happened.

There's a picture of the dents at http://146.186.250.56/roof.jpg
