Away from the wipers skipping, when the wipers are turned on do any of you feel them on the brake or the clutch?
hey ram, i feel it on the brake or cutch too, especially when the wiper is in high speed, is that normally??

Even when not skipping, I can feel the wipers through my brake pedal.

Dealership replace my passenger side insert today. They wanted to charge me at first, but I argued (since the car isn't that old) and they covered it. I think we are due for rain next so I'll report back then.

If your car is parked outside in the sun during spring or summer, put your wipers up so that the rubber's edge doesn't reshape to the winscreen.

My passenger side was skipping pretty badly as well. Does everyone with this problem have an '06??? The dealer replaced it under warranty. Said they had seen a few 06's in with the same problem. Here's my theory on this...I think it's the new '06 design. The pass side wiper is so small in relation to the driver side. I think that when you turn the wipers off the rubber rests on the windshield flexed upward. I think that the pass blade arm tension and weight don't force it to flex the other way so therefore it skips really badly when you turn them back on. If you manually push the rubber so it's flexed downward in dry weather and let it sit for a few hours, it won't skip. I did this a few times and it worked. A temp sanity fix until you have time to get it replaced.

If new blades don't fix the problem, get the dealer to replace the wiper arms. Ever since mine were replaced, my wipers are fantastic even when it's barely raining. I suspect my car isn't the only one with weak springs in the wiper arms.

I just got a Type B service at the local acura dealership and complained about the passenger wiper skipping. They said numerous complaints about this and they order the wiper arm (the bendy thing that wiper refills slid into) for this fix. Hopefully this does fix the problem and recommend anyone with an 06 TSX to get this done.

That's an interesting theory. I thought about it yesterday...but then changing the blades would be the equivalent to changing the refills because the same problem should return if it's a design flaw. I had already replaced the refill, so far so good, but I'm anticipating the problem to return. I like your theory though.

Of course no rain that day and the blade swept across the glass very smoothly. Talked to the service manager, and he ordered me a new blade. Funny thing was that they had to ORDER the blade replacement, and it would be ~2 days before it arrived. This may also be an indication of an excessive need for these blades if the dealer can't even keep them in stock. Good luck to everyone!!

Well the dealer finally got the correct blade in, needless to say I got both driver's and passenger's replaced. Once installed the passenger's side blade stopped skipping. Hope the rest of you find the same luck!!

Hey...thanks for the tip!

I just ordered a set of these from the Tire Rack.

Also....there's a buy-1-get-1-free deal with these wipers.

A pair for my TSX cost $27.44 shipped!

Of course....the 26" blade is Special Order...I have no idea how long that will take but I'll be patient considering the price.

I've been reading this thread over and over again, I've never been able to do anything about that constantly skipping, always chattering, never-doing-a-good-job passenger side wiper. I just ordered the Valeo Ultimates as well, to try to get something else going. $26.76 shipped (special order). Done.

I just installed my Valeo's before it started raining for a few days. They are GREAT so far. They work great and I can't even hear them. Total silence.

Me too.

Tried cleaning blade with alcohol, cleaning glass w/ different glass cleaners. Still get chatter. Mentioned to my dealer while scheduling my A service. He said he's never heard of such a problem, certainly not to the point that a wiper arm or spring had to be changed. The solution is cleaning.

Anyways, the day of my appointment, I asked them to look at the chatter and do what they could to eliminate it. They installed a new blade... Quiet now (so far).

Tire Rack called me and said the "Special Order" will ship on or about Nov 16th. So....only about a week's wait. No big deal for me. I'll be glad to have these installed for the upcoming winter (which always provided sketchy wiper action).

I've polished and Rain-X'd the windshield, alcholed the blades, checked for binding in the springs/.....and still have a noisy, chattery blade.

Looking forward to trying out this new Valeo.

Sure they do. I just bought a set of wheels and tires from them and had them shipped to Calgary. Did the whole deal online. You sure you're not looking at Discount Tires Direct (www.tires.com). I know they don't ship to Canada. TireRack definitely ships to Canada (www.tirerack.com).

Contacting my dealer tomorrow. Having the same issue. This will be the second time for me to contact them. I will ask them if they have heard about this issue. I will keep the group informed. May need to contact my contact at customer service. Had a minor issue when I purchased my TSX and have her number handy.

Still love my TSX!

You won't be able to fit the PIAA wiper inserts on the 06 wipers.

I have used PIAA wipers with great success on my BMW's which skipped, squeaked and chattered. Has anybody tried using these on a 2006 TSX to see if they will fit? Tire Rack states that both PIAA and Valeo will work, but it would be nice if owners could confirm. Thanks.

cleaning

Ok, so for cleaning:
- use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol on the blades
- Claybar on the windshield
- Stoners Invisible Glass on the windshield

Any other suggestions?

p.s. - This is for my wife's Civic but it should apply to all wipers, right?

Yes. Any aftermarket wipers will fit, the TSX still has a standard wiper arm end. Its the actual wipers that come with the 06 that make everything look so flush and nice. I'm using the Valeo's now, which are a more 'traditional' wiper and don't look as good, but they actually do the job, and never chatter or streak across the winshield. I'm happy with it.

$13 at the stealership in the north suburbs of Chicago. I'm just glad there's no more streaks or chatter after I put in the refill inserts.

I was very tempted to put the '06 blade on my '05 arm, though. I should have asked how much the '06 blade would be.

13 bucks huh? I think I paid about 10 for the refill....and so far they haven't given me trouble.

Me Too!

I have had the dealer replace the passenger side blade twice already (have had the car for 3 months) and it still skips all the time - drives me nuts~

Going in for oil change and tire rotation on Thursday and will try again...getting old - otherwise I love this car!

I've recently replaced my 06 wiper blades with OEM Honda blades and after about two weeks they are skipping again. I've done the RainX and cleaned the blades. The OEM blades are just not worth it.

Some dealers replace under warranty, some don't, especially after several attempts (which I didn't do). It's just not easy to make it to the dealership to try to "fix" a wiper blade problem. Much time and effort is spent to go to the dealer. Although I replaced the blade, it sometimes (not as frequent as before) still chatters.

i have been having this problem since the day i drove the car off the lot, but never went to the dealership (i'm not the primary driver of the vehicle, and we don't get that much rain). i'm going to the dealership in two weeks for a problem with my sunroof, so i will ask about the wipers. i've been using stoner's on the window since i bought the car, but i haven't tried the alcohol on the rubbber, i will do that today.

i was wondering, can you use silicon (like what you put on tires to make it shiny)?
