I got my winsows tinted about 8 months ago. The tint I got was called Charcool? Has anyone heard of this tint? Well any ways the tint is starting to change colors. In the sun light the back window looks like its purple. On the side view when the sun is directly hitting it the front looks greenish looking and the rear side looks red looking. When the sun light is not hitting it, it looks normal. Has anyone had this problem?

 

I heard that is the best type of tint for vehicles with navi.

 

What are you using to clean your windows? You shouldn't use anything with amonia in it. Turns the tint purple.

 

agreed, you have to make sure you're cleaning your windows with something that specifically states it's safe for tint (ie: no ammonia). I'm not sure if your "charcool" is dye, metallic, or ceramic. If it's dye, it may turn purple eventually (newer tint technology slows it down)...but I think 8 months is way too short to be experiencing that

 

I think it is Madico tint. I might have have that on my car as well, but I've had mine done about 9 months and have had no problems. I use Stoner's to wash my windows.

 

Was this a reputable dealer? Maybe they cahrged you for Charcool but put on some cheap dye's tint. If you got a warranty I'd take it back to make them replace it. 8 months seems awefully fast for fading anyway.
