Wierd Paint on Hood
Wierd Paint on Hood
I just got myself a carbon gray TSX couple days ago. I got home to find that the paint on the car hood isnt like anywhere else on the car. It's kind of difficult to describe but I guess I would say its almost like swirls. Like if the car had been waxed with those machines and left slight marks. It isnt THAT noticable, but if you look closely you can see it when it glistens in the sun. Can anyone help me get rid of them?
I see three possibilities:
1. The dealer waxed or polished the car and did a sloppy job.
2. The dealer applied one of those "protective" coatings - and did a sloppy job.
3. The car has some minor shipping damage that necessitated buffing or even repainting the hood. This is actually very common and is usually taken care of at the port of entry. I had an '88 Integra that had the rear hatch repainted. You could only tell when the sun was bright. Then you could actually see the patch through the paint.
If it's obvious enough to bother you I'd certainly ask the dealer about it.
