Unhappy Whats wrong?

Hey guys ive been having a problem lately,

Every time i gas up (for like the last 10 times), i gas up, and when i try to start the car, it will start and die in like half a second, and then i have to let it crank like 10 times, while applying the gas pedal a little bit, then it starts so i have to rev it a little bit because if i dont it just starts sounding and acting like its about to die, whats wrong?

Do i need to change something, and this only happens when i gas it up, it never EVER happens any other times, and my check engine light is on, so im not sure whats going on but its starting to really piss me off, when im sitting at the gas station with a 2004 car, and im cranking it like crazy to make it start, i feel stupid

Help me out, please guys!!!
Thanks in advance, Thanks

This happened to my gf's old Mitsubitshi Galant. We had the mechanic replace the idle control valve.

Check engine light on => go to dealer/service station, do not pass GO, do not collect $200. Next question?

Sounds like the idle control valve/motor like malnik suggested.
