What is this noise - tranny/clutch/axles
2004 6mt 185k miles
When accelerating I get what sounds like loud valve or injector noise. It is in tune with the rpm/load/speed of the engine. Louder and pronounced as the engine revs up. Slow tap when slow and like a buzz above 50 or so. Only happens when in gear and clutched out. Push the clutch or neutral it and it stops.
I can feel the vibration of the noise but everything else is flawless, well harder to get in gear sometimes.
Heres the noise from the not an ashtray so it sounds louder.

Summer is Coming
Sounds like you are driving a tractor!
Maybe a synchronizer in the gear box? Get the dealer to look at it. They will charge you to diagnose. But you can also take it to your local Honda dealer. They are usually a little cheaper.

in the 24th and a half...
Gearbox sounds like a good choice, but I wouldn't rule out an engine mount issue. If it wasn't for the noise stopping with clutch depressed, I'd also check valve clearances.
Another thought...if you push in the clutch and drop to neutral with revs up, does the noise stop immeidately, or only when the revs fall back to <1000? If that's true, it might be valves or injectors. Can you make the noise while stopped and reving (it seems, from your description you cannot)? If not, it's driveline somewhere.

Havent had a chance to see the shop yet so posting more videos.
Heres it jacked up running through the gears. The rattle stays while clutched/neutral until the tires stop. Odly it is a rattle, it is not consistent like a dif gear would be.
As well as another run from the ashtray, the thunk is the shifter hitting the phone
Highway cruising beside a construction wall for loads of sound bounce, ignore the wind.

Just so everyone knows.
Turns out one of the mainshaft bearing completely seized (a while ago apparently) and the bearing outer race grooved out the transmission case to be unrepairable. This also damaged the mainshaft. So instead of dropping 800 on a case and mainshaft I got a 07 48k transmission installed for 800+700.

A couple of questions:
1) Did the car ever leave you stranded or you were always able to drive it?
2) Can this happen to a car with automatic transmission. Doesn't an auto tranny also have a mainshaft bearing? can it seize also?
