Ok I know this has been an issue, especially with dom.....but I went to get an oil changed last Friday and complained about the shaking during braking.

I was told that the rotors are warped and that I need new pads as well. The dealer told me he would do it for $299!!! My car is at 31k miles, 90% of which are highway. In my previous 92 Accord I went 75k miles before even replacing the pads!

Anyone else having this problem? How should I approach getting them replaced for free? I don't want to have them resurfaced because it will just happen again, in an even shorter time frame because they will be thinner after resurfacing.

Will aftermarket rotors void any warranty with the rest of the braking system?

 

I'd get aftermarket pads and rotors, which will not void any warranty (at worst, you'd just have to pay to get these items replaced if an issue arose). Try axxis ultimate or hawk hps pads, but don't expect 75K miles out of them.
