Vibration at idle

Hey guys, I've noticed that my TSX vibrates a lot at stop more after installing the DC sports header and the Greddy Evo 2 cat-back. Just want to see if anyone else experiences the same thing and if there's anyway to decrease the amount of the cabin vibration. I'm going to be changing the spark plugs soon to see if that helps. Thanks.

I have a topspeed, so essentially a DC as well. I do feel some more vibration but I believe it is the lack of support. I'm going to wrap use thermal wrap on my headers and a metal strip to give additional support around the cat. Dunno when I"ll get around to it but I'll let you know if it fixes the vibration.

Thanks Zhieson. I believe installing the Evo 2 also lead to less support. I see two holes near the middle, where the original stock exhaust hooked on to as well.

Coincidence, i guess; I put my tsx up on jacks as we speak. my exhaust rattle is getting a little annoying. I'm putting some of that white grease in locations on the system where the clearance is close/tight, run the car and see where the grease might rub off from the vibration.

I noticed that while on JSs, that applying a slight pressure to the joint where my RT cat and CT header connect, that the rattle disappears. A shorter hanger nearest that couple is whats needed to stop the rattle. Its a subtle 'sag' but the bolts are tight.

Normal if your car is cold... Should not vibrate anymore after it heats up. (with stock header at least)

Mine vibrates slightly i think its due to the header length.

It puts alot more stress on those rubber hanger so replace the one nearest to the cat, and the last 4 exhaust hangers do help.

Stock will still vibrate slightly if you're in drive and have the brake pedal pressed. In park or neutral it should be very very minor if at all. If it's an AT, you won't ever not have vibration when in drive. Vibration will be especially bad when the engine is cold. When the car warms up and the rpms settle into the 6-7 range, you'll notice that the vibration is much softer while stopped in Drive. But the vibration does increase on and off when the A/C condensor turns on and off. For some reason that makes the vibration increase while it's running. It's subtle if you're not looking for it, but it's there on all the stock A/T TSX's I've ever driven (06,07,08).

When starting the engine cold is the vibration meant to be that bad that everyting in the car shakes ie like a violent vibration? I am talking about when you put the car into gear before the coolant has reached normal operating temperature because the manual says that there is no need to warm up your car for any more than a minute and that gentle driving is the best way to warm up the car.

Is the vibration at start up (and in gear) meant to be worse if there is a large electrical load on car ie when start up on a cold night and then need to turn on headlights, rear defroster, A/C etc?

cabin vibration is common in i4 engines!! v6 not so apparent but if youre really paying attention, you can feel it too!

the tsx's cabin vibration is controlled very well compared to other i4 i have sat in.

Did you ever solve the problem? I have a 2008 tsx that has a rough/vibrating & erratic idle when I am stopped/ on the brake and I've taken it to the dealer 3 times with no solutions....please let me know if you figured this out.
