Valve chatter at 49K miles?
2006 TSX 6-speed. Not sure if the sound I hear are the valves. The sound is very evident starting at 4th gear and 1800rpm. Whistling-chatter/perculator like sound can be heard ONLY when stepping on accelerator. When the car is stopped and just idling, I do not hear the sound.
What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance.

1800 isn't fast enough for your engine in fourth gear if you're accelerating. That's too much load on the engine which is probably what's causing the issues. It's ok if you're crusing that low, but not if you're accelerating.

I agree; sounds like you're lugging the engine. 1800 rpms in like a high idle for this engine. Downshift!!

I'll try to capture the sound on my phone.
Thanks!

You should remove your resonator. You'll really be able to "hear" the load on your engine. When I removed mine, I realized that I was often shifting a little too soon and overloading the engine briefly. There's really no difference if you drive properly with it removed.

Hmm... I don't believe I've ever noticed this type of noise prior to 40K miles but point well taken from everyone and from Acura service reps who took a took the time to check my car today. By the way, dealership checked my car's battery and found it needed replacement so I have a new one, under warranty of course

Ahh, this sounds like the same noise I had on my 06 MT, except mine happened at about 2800 rpm. No shops could figure out what it was, only squeaked when stepping on the gas and in a small 200 rpm range. I learned to deal with it, and then just last week took the car in for some fluid changes at about 80k miles--now the sound seems gone! I had the coolant, brake fluid, and clutch fluid replaced.
There are a few other threads about this noise; try searching for squeak, squeal, chirp, etc.
