Update

I'm hesitant to update my progress or lack thereof with the TSX. I know that the dealer intermittently reads this site, and my disappointment with the car has absolutely nothing to do with them. They've been great, and yes, I would still consider (emphasis consider) buying another Honda product. But there are many. many problems with this car.

I've got 62K on an O4 6MT. Problems in the past include warped brake rotors and defective calipers, fried power-lock and window control unit, defective center stack controls - no lights, squeaky seat backs, shifting drivers seat, and broken cruise control. The dealer fixes this stuff no questions asked. And they pull up a brand spanking new TL as a loaner. But how long until I start forking over loads of cash to pay for this stuff?

Most recently, the shifter grinds (crunch) through the gates from first to second on faster shifts. And I've never abused this car. You have to slam the clutch to the floor in order to get a clean shift...so the clutch is obviously wearing. But what about the grind? This bothers me. Do I sell this thing? Won't get anything for it with 62K.

More of the same, but love the car. Any ideas about the gear box? Don't say the work synchro!

That's rough to hear about your TSX. Mine has had zero problems but it has a VIN of 44,000, which means that all the little bugs and gremlins that affected the earlier made TSX's (made in mid to late 2003) were eliminated.

What is your VIN?? I wouldn't hesitate to bet that you have one of the first TSX's made and thats why you have so many irritating problems.

Good Luck. Acura products are known for their reliability and I hate to see that you had a negative experience with it.

Thanks. I'm not listing my VIN on the internet, because I'll never be able to unload this thing if someone reads this...LOL. But needless to say you are correct. It's an early car made in May 2003. But my Accords and Civic were early in the model cycle as well. No problems with them.

May 2003? Yea... you possibly got one of the first few off of the assembly line that was bound for North America. It does suck that you have so many problems though. Mine is ok so far, but mine's an 05. I've only had bad rotors, and the seat rail problem. Both were fixed no questions asked from the dealer. If the rotors go bad again, which they will, i will just be upgrading them.

That doesn't look as much like a clutch problem as a lazy pusher plate OR clutch cylinder with low oil pressure. If the latter is right, make sure you're not down on oil with the clutch cylinder and you shouldn't have any further problems.

I have mine since April 03. I think I have the earilest model. I now have almost 80k on my car. No problem...

Does the TSX have a slave cylinder? I remember my Civic has a master and a slave cylinder. It is hard to spot if the slave cylinder is leaking. Maybe your slave cylinder is leaking...

Wow, that really sucks. I really haven't heard of a TSX with that many issues. You'd still get a decent amount for it even with about 60k on it if you were to sell it. If I were you, I'd sell it and get an '06. From the amount of problems you've had, you'll be SOL if you keep it. I'd get out now while you can and hopefully you'll have better luck with another car. Can't believe you've had such trouble though.

I was hesitant about getting a first year model, but so far mine's been good to me. My VIN is higher in 2004 though (23,xxx). Good luck.
