TSX pulling to left..

I have a 2008 TSX and I've been noticing my car getting pulled (slightly) to the left when going on a straight road.. When you go fast, even a slight pull to the left can translate to a lane change.. just wondering if anyone has been experiencing this and if this can be fixed? I'm not sure if this is an alignment issues since the dealer told me my alignment is fine..

I found similar information on another forum -
www dot acura world dot com /forums/f58/car-pulling-left-68694/

(acura world is one word. I'm not sure why I can't post the whole link with the 'dot' included, this website is not letting me post it).

Any information is appreciated.

Huh. I'd immediately assume it's an alignment issue. Maybe you should get a different mechanic to check your alignment?

Edit - if it's not the alignment, maybe a sticking brake caliper?

Mine pulls to the right. Possibly uneven tire pressures.

i think it's probably to do with uneven tire pressure and alignment as well... will be checking this up with the dealer soon..
thanks for your replies!

Also take into consideration, depending on the roadway of course, roadways are usually angled for water drainage. However, since you posted, I'm assuming your case is a lot more noticeable than an angled road surface.

I agree.. but I have also noticed it when doing my commute in on the highway. I recently had my car inspected by a immediate family members shop and he did say that one of the tires was slightly off, but even after givin it air I still ahve the sensation. It is not major I just wonder about eneven wear of the car and parts of it.

Mine pulls to the left too. Had it in for alignment, etc. but the tech couldn't find anything. It's been doing this for about a year (25000 miles), through tire rotations and even two sets of wheels/tires (winter and summer). Of course I've checked tire pressures, etc. I'm at a loss and I've given up trying to figure it out. For awhile it seemed like it was certain stretches of road that caused the issue, but now I think it's temperature related. It's been happening a lot more now that it's gotten pretty cold. Perhaps it's related to the suspension?

It's annoying because I have to drive with the wheel cocked slightly. Please update us if you find a solution.

I just read the other thread you linked, and my TSX has an MT as well. Interesting...

^^ Make sure your brake calipers are all moving freely.

Interesting that you bring this up. I also have experienced the "warped" rotor issue. None of the evidence agrees, but could these two issues be related?

Entirely possible. Dragging brakes is going to get the rotors smoking hot. Sometimes literally.

Just read through this thread. Looks there are a few guys with their cars pulling to the left or right. Mine happens to pull slightly to the right. I did get the car aligned and has new tires with even tire pressure all around but still pulls to the right. My mechanic put it back on the alignment rack and check the specs and everything is fine. I really dont know whats the problem.

If your car is pulling and the tires are even (for a pull to happen with tire pressures you'd need to be really low on one side...at least 10-15 psi I'd think) then you need to have the alignment checked. If the pull persists it can be caused by a bad tire so a rotation might also fix the issue, indicating you need to replace a tire.

A brake shimmy has nothing to do with a pull, at least you would not see that happen on these cars. If your steering wheel shakes under braking you have a different issue. Possibly poor pad material transfer or warped rotors.

So, here's a summary from my own experiences and what others have written here and on other threads:

-Vehicle slightly drifts left or right
-Alignment doesn't help (or checks out ok)
-Drifting occurs regardless of wheel and tire condition/setup/rotation/pressure. No bad wear patterns on tires.
-Happens with both Auto and MT (?)

I'll add my own observation that it seems to be temperature dependent--in colder weather it's much more noticeable. With these "facts", are there any other causes of this drift? I'm guessing things just loosen up over time with the car and it's unavoidable/correctable? Could it be strut/shock absorber related? That's the only thing I can think of that has behavior that could possibly vary significantly with temp.

Mine pulls both left and right on even surfaces. Witht he car off and no key in the ignition, I turn the steering wheel left and right and I can hear a clunking sound. I took it to the dealer and they said the inner tie rods had too much play. They are replacing it under warranty.

I remember a while ago some one had similar symptoms and it turned out to be rack that needed to be replaced. The sloppy steering and clunking sound were both symptoms if IIRC.

The alignment is still in question for me here. "In spec" and "Good" are two different things.

Doesn't the steering wheel lock when you do this? I'll check my car for the clunking noise.

Well, I got the front inner tie rods changed. When they did an alignment, they noticed my rear camber out so they changed the rear upper control arms. The description was that the arms were 'too short'. The car now drive perfectly straight. It's kind of scary cause i'm not use to it driving so stright.

PN for control arms: 52390-SEC-305

Woot! It's always nice to find the solution to these tricky problems. It drives you insane when you can't. Sleep well tonight.
