Trunk popper not working.

The switch next to the driver's seat which pops my trunk stopped working after the first time I locked it. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem? I can still push the switch to open the gas tank cover.

Looks like there's an 800 number I can call for technical questions. If I can find it I'll give it a try.

So you locked the trunk ("valet mode") via the keyhole on the floor, unlocked it and the release lever isn't working? I'd give it a few good locks/unlocks with the key just to see if it got caught or wasn't fully unlocked or something.. When all else fails, let the dealer have a look.

idx, exactly. I "valeted" the trunk, unlocked it via the keyhold on the floor, and the trunk wasn't openable via the floor release. I'll try what you suggested, as well as try it with the other master key I have. For some reason I get the feeling the turning of the keyhole from "unlock" to "lock" the first time did something.

Does the trunk open through other methodes (FOB, button on the trunk)?

There is some form of a trunk switch hidden away in the glove box, I beleive.

The switch in the glove box locks out the exterior handle.

I tried my other master key and turned the lock several times, but it still doesn't work. Yes, I can still open the trunk with my FOB or by pressing the button. I guess the cable linking the popper and the trunk has frozen up for some reason...

I believe this was a problem that cropped up several months ago. If I remember correctly, it's just the lock for the lever that doesn't quite unlock all the way. You need to take it to the dealership to get it fixed. I believe it was a known problem.

I made an appointment with the dealer this morning to get it fixed. He didn't act like he was aware of this as known problem, but who knows.

The same thing happened on my old Camry whenever the trunk wasn't closed completely/firmly. Maybe shutting the trunk "with authority" would help

Whether or not they fixed this.....

Nice work over there, Tony!

I think Tony'll know what I mean.

(Whether or not that other dude makes it over here......)

I have the same exact problem on my 5 day old TSX. This is really irritating since I have to take a day off just to bring it back to the dealer for a problem Acura is well aware of.

I had exactly the same problem when my TSX was new. Immediately brought it in and they fixed it. 3,000 miles later, it hasn't happened again.

I guess I should wait till my car gets dirty before I bring it in so at least I get a free car wash.... its the least they can do for the inconvenience.

Not too happy - when I went to the dealer this morning they didn't have a record of my appointment, then said I had to come back next Saturday to get the thing fixed because they didn't have the part and had to order it. Er, OK.

Got it fixed today. The dealer told me no new parts were needed. The problem was that for some reason, after I had locked the trunk popper the first time, it never actually unlocked when I subsequently tried to turn it back to the unlocked position. Something to do with the alignment of the locking mechanism. Anyway, it's been realigned and is working now. Unlike before, I now hear a "click" when I switch between the locked and unlocked positions.

Long answer for a short problem.
