My message center indicated I needed to tighten the gas cap. I had not filled up in a few days so I was surprised. The cap was on tight and I have since filled up and driven about 100 miles. Message still comes on everytime. What else could be wrong ?

 

did you tighten it till it clicked at least 3 times?

 

How many times did you start/stop the engine in that 100 miles you drove?

 

could be poor quality of gas.

For me, it was the a/f sensor. I was told to tighten the gas cap, but it stayed on. Got it checked out and its the a/f sensor.
