Steering wheel audio controls

For some reason, my (steering wheel) volume up/down now does not control the volume anymore but instead functions as a channel up/track up. The Ch up/down now operates in reverse. Instead of going up, it goes down etc.

Anyone else had problems with the steering wheel audio buttons going bad?

Or, maybe try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and see if it resets.

Well, after it doing this all day Saturday, it's back to normal this morning. I didn't start my car at all yesterday morning, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. I guess it's one of those gremlins that hopefully I'll be close to the dealer if it happens again. Nothing worse than "we can't duplicate the problem".

my gto did that crap. it sucks. Makes you think twice about the mental state your in at the time. Especially when it does it then next time you hit the button, it's the correct function.

This happened to me tonight. It did it for the entire 45 minute drive to the gym. I thought I was going crazy the first time it happened. The volume button would only make the cd tracks go up, and the channel button would also only make the tracks go up, not down.

Then, I sat in the car in the parking lot for a few minutes talking on my phone, and decided to try the steering wheel controls again. It was back to normal! Hopefully it will not keep happening. If so, I'll bring it up at my next service appointment.

this sounds like the problems on the tl/cl it something to do with a contact ring between the steering wheel and column. I wonder if it could be the same problem.

Not sure, but it doesn't seem too many people here on the TSX side have had this happen. I've had very few bugs with my car thus far, so I find it odd that this seemingly rare one pops up all of a sudden.

Hopefully it is an easy fix, if indeed it does come back again.

I recall someone having this issue and it was caused by the wires in the steering wheel being worn down and shorting intermittently, hence the switched buttons.
