Stalling and hesitation - bad fuel??
Brought my car to the dealer to check on stalling and hesitation/ sputtering problems. At first, they thought it was a computer problem and didn't find anything.
I brought it back a few weeks later because it was acting up again. Turns out that the mechanic spents hours on the diagnostics until he decided to pull out the fuel pump. Looks like my fuel pump is clogged with gunk and other unmentionables... Anyways, this might not be covered under my warranty. I only use Shell 91 octane from a few gas stations in and around the Greater Toronto Area. Any suggestions on how I can get out of this mess??:'(

How many miles on your car and under what driving conditions?
Considering that the car could not be more than a year old, you should insist that they fix it under warranty. There is no way, if the car was properly maintained, that the fuel pump would clog that quickly.

don't know how you can get out of this... but i would avoid going to station with low traffic regardless of the brand. gas is only refined at some many locations, which means that gas is gas is gas... the extra additives that are added is just marketing.
chances are you went to a place that had a low turn over on 91 octane gas, so a lot of crap gather at the bottom of the tank along with alot of water. You probably filled up while the station's tank was near empty, so you got the worse of both worlds, crude, and water.

no. why would they, plus even if they did it would come out of your deductable first. although, i can see if your engine was damaged as a result of this but I think you have to buy additional insurance to cover such events.
just be smart about where you get gas. rule of thumb, a high volume station is best.
