Has anybody noticed this problem? When I try to start the engine, it wouldn't start and just make some noise (like grinding, the nosie that comes when the engine is already on and trying to start it again). It happened only once. I have to shutdown, wait a while and started again. But I hear the same kind of noise almost everythime I start the engine , but now the engine starts and I hear the noise while starting.


Any idea what this problem is? Has anybody noticed this kind of problem, got it fixes. Any input is great.

Sounds like a good time to take a trip to your dealer. I think it is likely someting to do with the starter.

I am having the same problem with my TSX. I took it to the dealer, and he checked the starter, mobilizer, alternator, etc but he couldn't find anything wrong with these parts. Were you able to get this problem fixed?

No my problem isn't fixed. I took the car to the dealer 2 times and they said they are unable to create the problem to see what it is. I still keep getting this kind of sound sometimes. Will take to the dealer again as soon as I find time and hope it makes that sound while they test it.

I do not have this problem with my TSX but I do have this problem with my old Civic.
The cause of the problem is most likely due to the gear on the Fly Wheel. Some of the gears may be out of specs. That's why sometimes you have that problem and sometimes everything is fine.
