Slow start

Slow start
When I try to start my 2009 Acura TSX it starts pretty slow. So I took it to advance auto parts and had them run a test and they said the battery is good but the alternator will probably need fixed. So I took my car to my Acura dealer and they told me there is nothing wrong with the car. I just want to know should i have the alternator replaced or should i have the starter replaced?

I'd try replacing the battery first and then the starter afterwards if the battery doesn't fix it. Alternator is last. I don't trust those testers at the auto places.. I've had good parts test bad and bad parts test good tons of times.

Agree with thoiboi. Start with a battery - how old is it?
Has something materially changed with how quickly your TSX starts??

Suggest purchasing a battery monitor ($15 Walmart, etc) to monitor battery voltage from cigarette lighter. Battery charging voltage (engine running) should be 13.5-14.5 V. If consistently below these levels then battery is likely being discharged and a new alternator may be indicated.
First clean each battery post connection thoroughly and inspect wires for corrosion. A bad wire can cause slow start speed.
good luck

I'm about to change my starter motor due to slow engine turnover during starting normally first start of the day or when the car has cooled down.
If replacing the starter you will also have to replace the intake manifold gasket at the same time as the starter is behind the intake manifold which I have be told why
the starter fails prematurely as it is subjected to heat from the engine where older Honda /Acura's had the starter motor on the side of the engine and not having restricted air flow by having
it tucked away. I think the electric's on these later model cars are the let down.
I will update this once I have changed out the starter next week.
