Shiftknob out of place...

damn i feel dumb for asking a simple question

i took my knob off, but i can't put it back so the |-|-| line up right ... help ?

screw the shifter in and put it in the position you want so it lines up. then use the wrench on the nut under the shifter and turn it so it tightens the shifter in place.
