shifter vibration and spinning sound 6mt

I don't know if this is normal and I haven't noticed it before or if something actually is wrong. my 06 6mt TSX has 5750 miles.

under heavier acceleration I've noticed that there's a slight vibration in the shifter. you can't feel it in any other gear, even at full throttle. could this be because there are no synchos on first gear?

also during the same heavier to full throttle runs, when shifting from 1-2 or 2-3 I get a weird spinning sound that lasts 1 or 2 seconds. the best thing that I can come up with is that it sounds like a bearing in a yo-yo when you spin it. it only occurs during those 2 shifts and not always together. sometimes just the 1-2 shift and sometimes just the 2-3 shift. other times it's both or neither.

these don't happen 100% of the time and aren't easy to duplicate. I drove with a service manager and these things didn't happen. They were happening less than 5 minutes before I got to the dealership.

if you have any input it would be greatly appreciated.

thank you.

I hear it on my TSX. But I do not hear it all the time. It might be the type of road you were on. Not all asphalts are the same. Some do cause the tires to make different noise. Tires react (as far as gripping) differently on different pavements.I do notice the "loose" feel on the shifter when I am in the "SS" mode. So I had the dealer check out my transmission about 6 months ago but they came back stating nothing was wrong with it "yet". Hmmmmmmm. what did they mean by "yet" ?

thanks for the input, but I don't think that what I'm experiencing is the same. as you have an automatic and I have a manual transmission

Possibly...

The spinning noise is due to application of the throttle before the clutch is fully engaged. The fact that it doesn't happen when you have the service guy in the car strengthens that, in my mind...you are probably being a little more deliberate in your technique with them in the car.

The engagement point on the clutch in my '06 TSX is really, really high...it has taken me a long time to get used to it (OK, I haven't). I have the same thing happen when I accelerate hard: I think I tend to ride the clutch a bit (keeping my foot over the clutch to be ready for the next shift, maybe I don't lift it enough), so when I am really on it I'm back on the gas before the clutch is all the way back out, so the engine spins up a bit.

Anyway, it's a possibility is all...

Os.
