Shift Hesitation

Just got a brand new TSX. 1600 miles on it and finally opened it up. Going from 1st to 2nd (6MT), and redlining 1st gear, there was major hesitation when 2nd caught. So much, that the VSA turned on. Thought the tires might have spun so tried a couple more times w/ the same result. Dry pavement, and I am sure I didnt spin the tires. Turned the VSA off, and obviously that kept it from coming on, but did not stop the hesitation. Can anyone chirp the tires in 2nd gear... with the hesitation I felt it is impossible. This doesnt happen in any other gear (no hesitation)

Anyone else had this problem?

This is most likely due the gear ratio spacing between 1st and 2nd. Been discussed many times here, including once already this week. try a search for "gear ratio"

You have to turn VSA off if you want to make a good 0-60 run because it will overreact to wheelspin in the 1-2 shift.

try shifting from 1-2 with 1/2 throttle, don't fully lift the gas pedal between that shift. i have done this and if done correctly will slingshot you when you catch 2nd gear.
i belive what is happening is when you lift the gas the ECU is quick to close the throttle plate but slow to open it. you will find if you rev the engine with the clutch in at a stop verses with the car rolling more than 5 MPH the throttle responds very slowly when rolling.
