Shaking at 30 m.p.h.

I have a 2004 TSX with 125k and a 6 speed MT. I have tremendous shaking at around 30 mph. It is driving me nuts. The tires have been balanced twice, and also aligned. I can feel it coming from the front end, I can power through the shaking but its beginning to worry me. Has anyone had this problem?

if its making a whining/grinding noise it could be the wheel bearing/s. is it just shaking?? anything else. maybe your rotors need resurfaced or a caliber is hung up.??? not a complete tsx guru....just my 2 cents.

It was doing it before I just had new rotors put on. There is no noise from it. What's weird is that it doesn't do it when I first start driving its after I have been driving for 20 or 30 minutes. Thank you for your reply

Control arms, maybe? It could also be the rear rotors.

does the shaking go away after a certain speed? is the shake real and i mean real violent? does the vibration happen only between XXmph- and XXmph. have you shifted the transmission into neutral while the vibration is happening and found the vibration go away?
if so, you might want to replace those axles? its hard to say which side is causing the vibration, so do both. save the head ache.

I just found the same exact problem yesterday. Extreme wobbling. I thought it was a tire out of balance, but I pulled the car over and found smoke coming off the front right caliper. I haven't taken the wheel off yet, but I ordered new rotors and brake pads. It is either a warped rotor or stuck caliper which overheats the rotor causing it to warp. If it's safe, drive your car for a few minutes at wobble speed then immediately pull over and check each wheel for smoke or excessive heat. Feel rim, caliper, and rotor to see if they are hot. Acuras are famous for warped front rotors.

My shaking was at 55-60. Changed both front axles to stop the problem.

What I think started the problem was the fact taht I didnt change my break pads for a while.....then my rotors got warped. shit was kind of terrible. it was all my fault too for being lazy. so anyway...what I think happened was......my rotors somehow bent my axles. and btw....at this point i believe my car was only shaking when i would brake. my steering wheel would shake.

finally...me and my boy changes my rotors and pads.

this is when i beleive the shaking at 55 mph to 60 starts. i speculate that somehow...my axles got bent since i rode with warped rotors for so long, or either...they got bent after the new unwarped rotors got put on? either way.....when the mechanics put my car on the left, they visibly saw my drivers side axle was jacked up and warped. they change it.....and car was still shaking. they changed my passenger side front axle, and all the shaking stopped.

SO!

now my engine light is on :/ ......but this is a totally difference thing. lolz.

I haven't updated this thread in a while, so here it goes. My problem with my wobbling is intermittent and still exists. It started with EXTREME wobbling, NOT just during braking, but acceleration and coasting. I pulled over and found the right caliper hot and smoking. ok great, but I took it to Acura and they couldn't reproduce it. We went for a long test drive, it didn't happen. The last time it happened it was the left front caliper. The wobble is caused by the brake on one wheel grabbing, the hard part is figuring out what is causing it. Now that it happens on both sides intermittently it is something central. Maybe the brake fluid needs to be flushed and changed, the manual recommends this at a certain mileage. Could be electronic, ABS or VSA. The last time it happened I pumped the brakes a few times and the caliper released. I'm going to have the fluid flushed and changed. Rotors where already turned, front end aligned, wheels balanced, car runs smooth and straight as an arrow up until the brake sticks, then the wobble begins. Anyone else hear of this?

something similar happened to my 08 accord the brakes would stick until I drove for a while and then released and parking brake light would turn off at that point...never found the culprit.

On my 04 tsx I had wobbling issues 60km( im canadian) and over but that was due to wheel bearing

I am having the same problem righ now, or atleast it sounds like it. My is under accleration though and usually flattens out as i get to higher rpms. My thought was CV joints or transmission mounts. Does your shake while coasting or braking? mine doesnt

I ended up putting on new control arms and front axles it has helped a lot but my car still shakes at times I have no clue what is causing it. the mechanic said my motor looked great and had no codes. It cost me $700 but it was definitely worth it!
