Seat Base Broken - 9th time!

Seat Base Broken - 9th time!
I was one of those TSXers with the sliding seat. It was finally fixed on the 8th try! But every time they attempted to fix it, the plastic seat base would break. Now, they ordered me a 9th seat base, and want a local upholsterer to try and "shore up the pieces." Not happy with that. I have been in contact with Acura customer service, and all they are interested in is fixing the seat over and over. The guy who sold me the car thinks that after a year, they should be getting me another car. Acura won't hear of anything else than what they're doing, the dealership treats me like I've got the plague. Acura states that it does not inhibit the performance of the vehicle, so all they will do is fix and fix again. Outrageous. Anyone have any other ideas for recourse?

First, educate yourself about your rights as warranted by the Connecticut Lemon Law here: http://autopedia.com/html/LemonLaw/CT_lemonlaw2.html
Next, consult an attorney at law for legal advice and you will decide what actions you will then take.
I can already tell you for sure that you MUST keep a written record with bills and as many details as possible of all the requests you make, Acura's answers to that, as well as all the details you can gather pertaining to the matter.
Good luck.

That's your best bet for a Lemon law claim. Little things don't get lemon lawed, only safety and use issues.

I gave up on the issue, but will bring it up on the 25k service. I'm making a list:
- cars pulls to the left
- loud clank noise inside right door
- vibration from brakes when slowing down
- sliding driver's seat
- noises from rear right side of the car

I had vw buy back my wife's jetta (i'm in CA but i think CT laws might be similar)
Gather all of your records make sure the same problem has been written on the service forms - 3 or four times should do (in CA the problem is supposed to be related to the engine - but if your seats aren't secure that might be considered dangerous too)-
call a lemon law lawyer - in CA it only costs around $100-$200 to have them draft a letter - if you have a decent case the legal fees are paid for by the manufacturer (the best part of CA lemon law - hopefully its the same) the lawyer will tell you if you have a good case because they only want cases they know they can win.
Here's something important:
The lawyers will tell you not to bring the car in to fix the problem - under the law it has to be broken for the lemon law to apply
they will also ask that you stop contact with the dealer and manufacturer.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
fyi - In CA the lemon law is strong because - should the manufacter be found unable to fix your problem in court they are forced to destroy the entire car - so, most manufacturers would rather buy it back from you (before going to court) then they can resell the car and not take a total loss.

YOu use the Term "Acura". It's important to differentiate between the Acura US consumer contanct phone person, and your Acura dealer. Your Acura dealer is a seperate company.
Talking to the Acura phone line and speaking clearly and calmly but also using terms like "safety issue" and "I'm afraid to drive the car" should be very helpful.
Edited to add Imissed it the first time in your psot - MY BAD, sorry. Have you used the term "safety issue" with them? Since seats have airbags in them now, isn't that a safety issue? (Honda gives out free seat belts for life to avoid warranty problems, understand)...
