Scratched Silver Plastic Dash Detail

Hi, everyone. The silver plastic detail strip that runs around the front of my dashboard has a scratch in it. Has anyone found a way to repair a scratch? (it scratches very easy) Or do I have to replace the plastic piece?

I have a Carbon TSX with 19,000 miles on it - and, except for the scratch - not one thing has gone wrong with it.

How deep is the scratch? Can you feel it if you run your finger over it? You can try using a clear wax pencil that furniture guys use to fill in small holes, etc. Then apply some protectant and buff it. It will make that piece shiny, so you may have to do the same to the other pieces to match it up.

Meguiars (and Mothers) makes a clear plastic scratch remover for those plastic back windows on convertibles. I used one on a Miata and it worked wonders. Maybe it will work for your scratch.

Scratch

Great news. I found out that if you take a cloth and rub hard the scratch will disappear after a minute or two!
