Thumbs down scraping sound after alignment!

i dont get it sometimes. it really seems like many people in all sorts of prefessions just do not even bother to double check their work.

i picked up my car yesterday as i had brought in in for an alignment. after driving it for less than 5 minutes i noticed a scraping sound coming from the front left wheel.

how did the shop not hear this? the sad thing is that i pretty much expect that any work i have done on anything is going to require me asking them to do it again for fix something they screwed up on.

so i turned around parked it in the shops lot, threw my keys in the overnight box and left a note explaining they had some more work to do.

its just really annoying to me that something like an alignment cannot be done right the first time. thanks for letting me vent.

swap back to your stock springs/struts until mid october?

Or maybe they can somehow work a deal where you pick one up at a shop, and they pay the shop or something?

Guess you're buying a new set

Can't you get them to send you a replacement coilover for the time being?

It sounds like OP left the vehicle alone there for a while. I think maybe they went joyriding...or maybe they accidentally hit the strut somehow and caused it to leak.

I remember when I brought my car in for an alignment, and they tore the mudflap off while trying to get it onto the machine. Then they came up to me and tried to pass it off as if I had been driving around like that and if I wanted them to do a temporary fix for it. Problem with their story is that I looked over my car before I drove over =P

Even a blown damper won't give a scraping sound. Are your rims scratched after the alignment?

its more like a clanking sound when i hit bumps actually, these guys are not shady con-artist types. trust me i WANT to blame them for this however i think it may just be a case of bad timing.

i am more pissed with Tanabe with there pathetic product support. they advertise that they have a replacement parts program on their website however the first time i call them for help they tell me parts are on back order until mid october!!!!

i may bite the bullet and get some Tein Basics instead....after speaking with some of our online vendors the product support from tein is far better then Tanabe.
