rust question

I decided to take advantage of the warm weekend in the northeast and do a quick detail on my car. As I was putting a coat of NXT on the car, I noticed two small pings on the roof of my car (towards the rear window). Upon further inspection, I noticed that the spots were starting to rust in the middle. Is this covered under the rust warranty, or do I need to pick up a paint pen to fix the problem?

theres a rust warrenty? was the ding on your own or am i not following whats rusted? i know i have a rusty spot under my car but thats cuz the first day i got it, i pulled up too far on the curb and left a mark. other than that i had a spot on the paint where it got chipped, very small and i just put clear nail polish over it.....

if u have a ssm car, clear nailpolish works wonders. just gotta keep up on it bc alot of waxing will wear it away.

from the acura website:

Outer body rust-through: 5-year/unlimited-mile limited warranty*

* Ordinary maintenance items or adjustments, parts subject to normal wear and replacement, and certain other items are excluded. See your Acura dealer for the terms and conditions of limited warranties. (what the hell does that mean)

I think it means if the rust was caused by a stome chip its not covered. I think this has come up before and it was not covered under warranty.

i wouldnt think it would be its mostlikely your fault even if u didnt mean to get it, with that i dont think they would sell the paint touchup if they covered the paint for free

I ended up going to the dealership today because my damn dash rattle came back. Took a tech out for a spin and wouldn't you know the sound dissappeared . Anyway, asked the tech about it and he said no (which I figured anyway). On a good note though, he ordered a new windshield seal even though he didn't hear the problem. Guess he trusted me after I told him that I took everything out of my car (glove comp. and sunglasses, etc.) and turned the AC and radio off but still had the problem.

Thanks for the help guys!
