Rust on the Brake Rotors?

My TSX accumulates rust or a rust-colored substance on the brake rotors whenever it rains. It easily wipes off and goes away with braking, but it is unsightly. Anyone else notice this? Is it something I should be concerned about? I've only had my car for a little over a week and i expect to have a shiny braking system.
Thanks in advance.

It happens, not much you can do about it if anything. As soon as you hit the brakes, it all comes off, nothing to be worried about!

Fresh metal + moisture = rust

To quote the great Carl Spackler from Caddyshack
"Its no big deal"

lol dude every car in existence with metal rotors (excluding some race cars with ceramic and carbon braking systems) will get rust on the rotors when the car is not used\not driven and left in rain\moisture.

not a problem - they will even rust when cleaning the wheels after you've been driving

jcg, in my 12 years living here I've often referred to the area I live as the jersey shore. but that pretty much includes everything from Point Pleasant, to Cape May .. which spans about 100 miles. The first question I'm asked when I say I'm from the jersey shore is "oh what town" .. and with my town of Forked River being rather small, the second question is "oh where is that" .. so by saying the exit number that pretty much puts all questions to rest ..

Maybe I should ask you why your location says South Jersey and under your member name it says Obnoxious Philadelphian??
