Rough Idling

Hey guys. Just purchased an 04 TSX and everything is great with it minus the fact that it is idling kind of rough..I am not too sure what the problem would be but it is going back to the dealership this week hopefully for them to take a look at but I'm just kind of wondering if you guys had any ideas before I hear from them.. Also it hesitates a bit when I'm starting the vehicle..not sure if these would be related but I'm a little worried..
Oh and also the console lights for the cd player and temp settings are burned out but checked the fuse and it is still good...errrr i really hope this car isn't a lemon...any advice or feedpack would be appreciated! thanks!

There is an extended waranty on the lights dimming or going out on the audio/heating/cooling console controls....7 years/100,000 miles. Go to the FAQ section, click on the TSBs thread and you will find it. Hopefully your not over 100,000 miles.

How rough are we talking? If it flactuates, what are the max and min RPM values?

well honestly the rpms won't vary much..in between 600-800 i suppose..the idling is within normal limits but the vehicle to be vibrating more than it should be..

I'm not really sure how much this will help, but it fixed my issue. I have just over 83K miles now, and I felt a little bit of roughness after driving distances (an hour on the fwy at 80ish...) and some hesitancy starting on cool mornings.

Two weekends ago I went ahead and pulled the spark plugs. I found they were pretty corroded, so I replaced them. I went with the Bosch Iridium / Platinum spark plugs - the ones with four prongs - (9.99 ea at Auto Zone). While I was in there, I replaced the air filter (found it fairly dirty, with a cigarette butt at the bottom of the filter box ). In my opinion, the hesitancy and roughness are now gone. It might be in my head, but the car seems to have also regained it's former peppiness.

Good luck

The OEM iridium spark plugs are meant to be changed at around 60-65000 miles (that's on our local service schedule)

My 04 with AT has been doing this since day 1. I have brought this up with several different dealer service people and every time get the same response..."this is consistent with other vehicles, the same model and year". I now have 49000 miles and have given up my quest for Acura/dealer resolve. In my case, problem is most apparent with A/C on, stopped, waiting at a light. Others with newer models have not experienced same problem. Good luck, and if you have any resolution, please let me know.
