Rough at 1000rpm?

Do others find they get the most vibration from the engine at about 1000rpm? I first noticed this when the engine was still warming up. But I also noticed when accelerating from normal idle (700-800rpm, which is dead silent and no vibration), the car is a bit rough until getting above about 1200rpm.

Just curious, only had the car a few weeks and want to make sure all is kosher.

I've previously posted that I notice this on my 06 but only when it's cold and I'm stopped at a light or stop sign.

car seems to be rough till its warmed up. What sucks is my drive to work is like 2 miles max so by the time i get there its barely warmed up. makes me feel like its always rough till im taking longer trips to other places.

Isn't that like a 2 minute drive? short trips like that are really bad for your car's since your engine never reaches optimal temperature. I would just bike or walk, but that's just me

its way too cold outside in the morning lol and the way the area is you dont really want to bike or walk. Its actually a little farther than that so sometimes I take the long way to work. but thats the reason for the severe maintainence schedule.

Maybe start your car a few minutes early in the morning and let it warm up before you leave? I do that now and I have a warm car to come out to when I head out to work.

Mine is rough only when in drive or reverse and the engine is cold. A buddy of mine has the 6MT and doesn't have this problem. It appears to be only a 5AT thing. Its rough because it is running very rich which is causing some drive train vibration, it goes away quickly though.

A 2 minute drive, wow, you should have bought the Yaris! Just kidding, it just makes you look forward to longer drives with the car - a great cruiser.

I suspect it may fade with time. I got to drive mine around the lot just off the truck, still with the transport goop on it when it had like zero miles, and on that cold day it vibrated like a cheap massage chair.

It's never been that bad since; in fact, I'm not sure I've really noticed it at all.

What I noticed even more was all the burn-in smell. I know a lot of stuff needs to burn in on a new car, but it was strong and long enough with this car that it was making me nervous. All gone now, though...

at idle, my car seems to make some sort of engine whirring/chugging noise. it's very faint, but noticeable when the stereo if off. im very paranoid with sound and i recall my car was pretty silent at idle when i first bought it.

not in mine..... how old is your car??? is it just a defect??? or it will happen to our car untimately..... coz my car is about a year old w/ 20,000 km on and I haven't heard anything from it so far while it is on idle.... I will be pissed if it may happen to mine too ultimately....

I'm also being paranoid about the sounds in my car. I'm obsessing about engine noise. I feel like it might be noisier than it should be when accelerating through the lower rpms. It's probably fine, but I was in my wife's CR-V and it's pretty quiet when accelerating. Now, there's no comparison at 80mph, the TSX is a lot quieter.

It's not that I neccessarily want the engine to be dead quiet, it is a Sports sedan, I just want to know all is fine. I'm tempted to go test drive another TSX, just so I can compare and put my mind at ease.

By the way, when my engine is warmed up and at idle I hear almost nothing.

I need to just get over it, it's my first new car and I'm just worrying too much that everthing might not be perfect.

Still Confused...

Where does your car typically idle at, after it has warmed up?

My car, when it was new would idle at around 1,000 rpm, and seemed pretty smooth...but now, after just over 11,000km, once it's warm it dips down to 600-800 rpm and seems like it's too low.

Anyway, I read through some posts on idle problems, but I didn't get a good feel for where TSX's typically idle?

I have an '05 6mt Navi

Mine seems to idle consistantly at 750rpm after it's warmed up. Mine's '05 6MT as well.

Mine has a vibration at 2100-2300rpm. Very apparent at 4th to 6th gears.

The CRV engine is heaps silent. I can't tell if the engine is on or off without looking at the tacho.
