replacing FM radio receiver

My FM radio receiver suddenly died one day. I brought my car into dealership, and the radio was replaced.

I noticed two things afterwards:

(i) When the radio was swapped out, the navi-display was also replaced. Are there any ideas why the navi-display was changed with the FM radio? Is this an integrated unit?

(ii) Does Acura change parts under warranty with refurbished units? The dealership writes that the radio was replaced with a refurbished one.

The stereo works well now. It just seems odd for Acura to cover items under the car warranty with remanufactured (instead of new) parts.

Nothing wrong with remanufactured electronics - not the same as a mechanical item.

There might be a security relationship between the radio and display making replacement both a necessity.

replacement radio

I had my radio replaced because all the display on the radio and the A/C along with the clock stopped working. After trying for two days to figure out the problem, the dealer came to the conclusion that there was a short in the radio which casued all the other displays to short out too. They replaced that radio and it solved the problem. I also had the same concern about the remanufactured parts, but since the TSX is only a year old, there are only new parts. Because of this it also took about a month to get a new radio for them to fix the car. Supposedly this was the first time anyone in the entire country had seen the problem.
