Removing headlight protection

What is the best product to use to remove the headlight protection?

heat it up with a blow dryer and goo gone?

I thought most protectors were made to be able to be taken off easily, like you just pull it off and maybe wipe a little

I ripped mine off and cleaned the adhesive with some acetone.

well, that's what I thought too when did it. I ripped one and some of my headlight shinny stuff came off with the protection so that is why I'm asking this.
